Disney envisions a world run by animals in ‘Zootopia’ (VIDEO).

In the trailer for Disney’s Zootopia, audiences are introduced to Officer Judy Hopp (Ginnifer Goodwin), an enthusiastic, bright-eyed bunny eager for her big break. The trailer, released by Walt Disney Animation Studios on Monday, focuses on Flash (voiced by Raymond Persi) — the “fastest” sloth working at the DMV.In the preview for the animated movie, which comes from the creators of previous Disney hits “Wreck-It Ralph” and “Tangled,” a rabbit police officer named Judy (Ginnifer Goodwin of “Once Upon a Time”) is in a hurry to crack a case, and that means she has to run a suspicious license-plate number down at the “Department of Mammal Vehicles.” Unfortunately for her, everyone who works there is a sloth.Zootropolis is the handiwork of Tangled’s Byron Howard, Wreck-It Ralph’s Rich Moore and Jared Bush. “Zootopia” also features the voice talents of J.K. Applying the same strategy it did for Frozen and Big Hero 6, the new Zootopia trailer is essentially one long clip that familiarizes viewers with the two leads—Nick Wild and Judy Hopps—as they interact with Flash, who is voiced by Disney story artist (and co-director of one of the finest Fleischer tributes) Raymond Persi.

With smart-aleck Nick Wild (Jason Bateman) by her side, Officer Hopp heads to the DMV – otherwise known as the Department of Mammal Vehicles – for some scoop on a license plate she suspects is connected to the felony. Comprised of habitat neighborhoods like ritzy Sahara Square and frigid Tundratown, it’s a melting pot where animals from every environment live together-a place where no matter what you are, from the biggest elephant to the smallest shrew, you can be anything. The rest of the cast is comprised of some terrific talent, including Shakira as Gazelle, Idris Elba as Chief Bogo (head of the Zootopian Police Department), Octavia Spencer as Mrs Otterson and J.K. For those unfamiliar with the general set up of the film, Zootopia imagines a world completely devoid of humanity, allowing the animal kingdom to rise up and build their own mega-cities. Ginnifer Goodwin voices young rabbit Judy Hoops, who wants to be a cop – but finds herself faced with a number of setbacks, not least the fact she’s a tiny, furry animal.
