Naughty Boy is ‘keeping his mouth shut’ as Zayn Malik announces his new record deal.

The 22-year-old singer, who made a departure from the boy band earlier this year, says he is ready to show people who he “really is”, reports femalefirst.co.uk. Former One Direction member Zayn Malik has announced that he’s signed a new record deal with RCA Records, further detailing plans for his upcoming solo career.Zayn Malik says he’ll now be making “real music”, having signed a deal with record company RCA Records, he revealed in a Twitter post, making a not-so-subtle dig his former band One Direction. Dropping the news on Twitter on Wednesday night, he captioned a photograph of him signing a record deal: “I guess I never explained why I left , it was for this moment to be given the opportunity to show you who i really am! #realmusic #RCA !! … #REALME (sic)” Its impressive roster features the likes of A$AP Rocky, Alicia Keys, Britney Spears, Chris Brown, D’Angelo, Christina Aguilera, Miguel, Miley Cyrus and more. “Is this zayn’s moment he’s taking off his hannah montana wig and now he’s miley cyrus (sic),” to which he replied “that’s so funny!” with a laughing emoji. Malik quit pop group One Direction in March, stating that he wishes to be “a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight”.

Zayn also retweeted a message from a fan who was over-awed by his impressive label mates, as they wrote: “Zayn got signed to the same record label as Chris Brown, G-Eazy, Shakira, Justin Timberlake, Prince Royse and Alisha Keys JUST IMAGINE.” Last week, Malik helped celebrate One Direction’s fifth anniversary by re-tweeting former bandmate Liam Payne’s post that read: “Wowwwww 5 years 5 boys what an amazing journey I couldn’t thank you all ever enough and thank you Louis Niall Harry and Zayn for everything.”

Simon Cowell, who manages One Direction on his Syco label, congratulated Malik on his new deal, tweeting: “We have been working on this for a while and I am pleased to say congratulations to Zayn Malik on signing with RCARecords.
