‘X-Men: Apocalypse’: This ‘Game of Thrones’ actor just joined the cast.

The director of the new X-Men film tweeted that Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan and Alexandra Shipp have all been signed up for the next instalment in the franchise.Turner, who portrays Sansa Stark on the HBO smash hit series “Game of Thrones,” will portray a younger version of the “X-Men” character Jean Grey in the upcoming film “X-Men: Apocalypse,” according to “X-Men: Days of Future Past” director Bryan Singer.

Bob Dylan has been thinking about doing an album of songs made famous by Frank Sinatra since he heard Willie Nelson’s album Stardust in the late 1970s, he tells Robert Love in AARP The Magazine — an interview Dylan requested, his one and only for the album Shadows in the Night. As Apocalypse is a prequel to the original films, the actors will play younger versions of the mutants – Game Of Thrones star Sophie will be Famke Janssen’s Jean Grey, Mud’s Tye will take on James Marsden’s Scott Summers or Cyclops, and Alexandra, who starred as Aaliyah in a TV biopic, is confirmed for Halle Berry’s old role as Ororo Munroe, or Storm. Longtime fans shouldn’t be surprised by his Sinatra album, Dylan said, because he’s played most of the standards over the years. “To trash those songs would be sacrilegious,” he tells Love. “And we’ve all heard those songs being trashed, and we’re used to it.

The director announced late last night that he had casted Storm, Jean Grey, and Cyclops — roles originally held by Halle Berry, Famke Janssen, and James Marsden, respectively, in the original X-Men trilogy. While James McAvoy as Professor Charles Xavier, Michael Fassbender as Magneto and Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique will be the main focus of the film, it isn’t clear yet whether Bryan is lining up the new generation cast to take over as the main stars in future releases. Earlier this week, Sir Patrick Stewart confirmed that he and Sir Ian McKellen would not be involved this time as the older versions of Professor Xavier and Magneto. As “X-Men” film fans know, the 2006 movie “X-Men: The Last Stand” included Jean killing Cyclops, also known as Scott Summers, after she transforms into the dangerous mutant known as the Phoenix.

Comments that are judged to be defamatory, abusive or in bad taste are not acceptable and contributors who consistently fall below certain criteria will be permanently blacklisted. Rounding out the trio is Alexandra Shipp (Straight Outta Compton, Aayliyah: The Princess of R&B) as Storm, who, at this point, we ‘d like to let the reader know is actually really cool in the comics (as opposed to her previous portrayal in the film series). Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Channing Tatum as Gambit are expected to star in the movie alongside the already confirmed names such as Jennifer Lawrence (Raven/Mystique), Michael Fassbender (Erik Lensherr/Magneto) and James McAvoy (Charles Xavier).
