‘DC’s Legends of Tomorrow’ debuts Jan. 21.

Just a few days after the premiere date leaked, The CW has released an extended first look at their big superhero spin-off series, DC’S Legends of Tomorrow. At nearly two-and-a-half minutes, the latest look at the upcoming superhero series shows off each individual member of the team—Atom, White Canary, Captain Cold, Heatwave, Firestorm (Professor Martin Stein and Jefferson Jackson), Hawkman, and Hawkgirl—kicking all sorts of butt.

Thursday slot. “The 100” will start its third season at 9 the same night. “The Vampire Diaries” and “The Originals” move to Fridays, beginning Jan. 29. “Reign” has its winter finale Jan. 22 and will return later in the season, The CW said. The team includes time traveller Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill), Firestorm (Victor Garber), The Atom (Brandon Routh), White Canary (Caity Lotz), Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell), Hawkgirl (Ciara Renée), and Hawkman (Falk Hentschel).

The cast includes Victor Garber (“The Flash,” “Alias”), Brandon Routh (“Arrow,” “Superman Returns”), Arthur Darvill (“Doctor Who”), Caity Lotz (“Arrow”), Ciara Renee (“Pippin”) and Franz Drameh (“Edge of Tomorrow”), with Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller, who both starred in “The Flash” and “Prison Break.” In the series, a spin-off of The Flash and Arrow and the latest plan for superhero shows to take over all of television, the group is visited by the time traveling Rip Hunter (Doctor Who’s Arthur Darvill), who enlists them to stop the villain Vandal Savage from destroying the world. We’ve got some wild as hell time travel stuff going on, we’ve got a villain that looks completely undefeatable, and a bunch of snazzy-looking special effects and fight sequences.

We got our first decent look at big bad Vandal Savage in the promos for the upcoming Arrow/Flash crossover episode hitting The CW next week, but this trailer definitely expanded that introduction. We learn that by 2166, he has taken over the entire world, which is just like a comic book villain, and that he’s been around for a long damned time. Plus, we’re just getting used to the idea of Hawkpeople making their way to our TVs, and this trailer helps us understand how cool that’s going to be.
