Hillary Clinton Gets Campaign Advice From ‘Trump’ on ‘Fallon’.

Hillary Clinton stopped by The Tonight Show Wednesday, providing a chaser after the maddening — or intoxicating — second GOP debate, but the Democratic front-runner’s appearance did have one thing in common with the Republican melee: Donald Trump. Once again, Jimmy Fallon bronzed-up, wig-ed out and impersonated Trump in a fake phone conversation in which he offered Clinton some patented presidential advice. While the bit gave Clinton the chance to stump on issues like women’s rights and immigration, she played along with Fallon’s outlandish advice, such as yell, or pick three things people love then disparage them. Clinton even got a chance to roast Trump’s oft-ridiculed hair when Fallon started joking about Bernie Sanders’ own wild follicles. “Well, at least he doesn’t have just one strand that he twirls over his head like a soft serve at Dairy Queen!” Clinton said with a grin.

Talk quickly turned to immigration. “Do you have any idea what it’s like to work so hard for something, to be so close to getting it, but then have someone pop out of nowhere and tries to take it all away,” Clinton pointedly asked. Clinton admitted with a laugh that she was “having a good time watching” the real estate mogul’s campaign. “I’m just sitting there thinking, all of a sudden you’re in the Kremlin and somebody comes rushing in and goes, ‘Oh my gosh, did you hear what President Trump said today?!'” Clinton said. “It might actually cause everybody else to just calm down because they wouldn’t want it to get too excitable.” Clinton also offered up her own Trump impression after Fallon asked about a dig he made about her reliance on teleprompters. After discussing her passion for women’s rights, Clinton asked about his stance on women’s issues. “I know a lot of women, and they all have issues,” said Fallon. Clinton said prompters served a purpose, citing Barack Obama’s success in communicating his messages exactly how he wants; then she deepened her voice and continued: “But I could go more stream of consciousness. Trump also tried to give Clinton some advice, including to yell more and to pick things that everyone else loves, like puppies and rainbows, and then go against them. “Let me grab my pen,” said Clinton as she grabbed a glass of wine.

When the faux Trump offered to interview her in place of Fallon, whom he called a “total lightweight,” she made a reference to her limited press availability. “You know how much I love being interviewed as long as you don’t start talking over me while I’m trying to make a point,” said Clinton before she was interrupted. Let’s get rid of the people that don’t agree with us and only talk to the people who do!” But Clinton did address her own campaign, opening up about the contents of the e-mails sent from a private server while she was Secretary of State. As her poll numbers dip and the race for the White House heats up, Clinton has been actively raising her profile with media appearances like Ellen DeGeneres’ daytime talk show, on which she danced with the host, as well as Amy Schumer and Pink. Clinton made a quick crack about the already famous Gefilte fish e-mail and explained how certain documents were retroactively classified, but weren’t secret when she sent them. “The stuff that’s in it, I think is really boring people, which kind of hurts my feelings,” Clinton joked. On her campaign’s defining issue: “Raising American’s incomes.” On making college more affordable: “If you go to a public college or university, you will not have to borrow money to pay tuition.

At another point in the show, Clinton invited Fallon to touch her hair after he admitted he hadn’t been able to do so with Trump when he appeared on the show Sept. 11. Mad Max will roar back out of the apocalypse while Mad Men rides off into the sunset, rock’s Antichrist Superstar and hip-hop’s Yeezus will rise again.
