‘The most insanely amazing thing to ever happen’: Justin Timberlake hails fatherhood and reveals son Silas’ first word.

Everyone’s favourite American chat show host Ellen DeGeneres stopped by The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon and totally owned the lip sync battle. Not quite “Straight Outta Compton!” Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon brought back their hugely popular “History of Rap” segment on Wednesday, Sept. 9, belting out some classic hip hop anthems for an amazing sixth installment. Ellen’s known for her dancing so it was no surprise that she’d pull off Diana Ross’s Do You Know Where You’re Going To? ( ‘written before GPS or Google Maps’) and Rihanna’s B***h Better Have My Money ( a song about ‘a business transaction’).

The musical duo were backed up by Fallon’s house band The Roots, as they rapped and sang their way through a host of classic hits from artists like LL Cool J, MC Hammer, Public Enemy and the Beastie Boys. Of course it may have been something of a foregone conclusion, as the shameless star had been priming the boy with Jimmy’s picture book Your Baby’s First Word Will Be Dada. The straight faced, clean cut duo got totally into their performances, but new dad Timberlake did draw the line when his show host attempted to take on N.W.A.’s “Staight Outta Compton.” We’re working on his swing, but his putt is great.’ Jimmy was in typically fine spoof musical form, including a moment Justin had to pull back Jimmy who appeared to get a little too into character as he swore and looked menacingly at the camera. They finished with The Beastie Boys’ Fight For Your Right, which led to Jimmy breaking from tradition to crack a political joke at Hillary Clinton’s expense.

There was an even deeper insight into the pair’s bromance as it emerged Justin had created a tequila cocktail called The Fallon, and it was revealed that ‘as a joke’ they had coffee mugs printed of each other. It started with Justin taking a photograph of himself drinking from a mug Fallon had at his house with his own face on, with Justin saying he was ‘literally attempting to make your face’ as he posed. Jimmy countered this with an image of Justin drinking the mug printed on another mug – and then another mug, this time with a photo of Jimmy drinking from the mug that had a photo of Justin drinking from the mug with Justin’s face on it.
