Watch British Stars Do Menial Jobs for Red Nose Day

‘I put weird stuff in my ear’: Bruce Jenner makes odd confession… but it’s just a bad lip reading skit for Red Nose Day special.

Pine agreed haphazardly to Meyers’ invite to the attend the fundraising event, then invited Emily Blunt to be a part of the fun (but not before the two reminisced about Into the Woods – in song, no less).

The Oscar-winner’s breathtaking entrance on the live NBC special ended up leaving her literally hanging in air – but of course, being a comedy charity drive, it was all for show.During a night of a thousand pranks, Gwyneth Paltrow seemed to experience some technical difficulties during NBC’s live Red Nose Day special on Thursday that left her dangling above the stage. As a video segment from Keeping Up With The Kardashians played, words were dubbed over to turn an innocent chat between the reality stars into a hilarious skit. Blunt in turn relayed the invitation to her husband John Krasinski. “Honey, Chris Pine just called me and he wants us to help out with Red Rose Day,” Blunt said.

Viewers saw a blonde woman drop from a helicopter, roll on the building rooftop, fit herself with a harness and then jump through a skylight – all while wearing heels. Seth Meyers and Jane Krakowski split hosting duties while others, including (but not limited to) Emily Blunt and her hubby John Krasinski, Chris Hemsworth, Zach Efron, Neil Patrick Harris, Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Garner, Reese Witherspoon, One Direction, Elizabeth Banks, and Rose Byrne participated in hilarious sketches encouraging people to dig deep into their pockets and donate. According to NBC.com, the benefit will help 12 charity organisations that strive to lift children and young people out of poverty in America and other countries. Other celebrities confirmed to participate include Benedict Cumberbatch, Kit Harington and other Game of Thrones cast members, Gwyneth Paltrow, Martin Short, John Krasinski and more. Paltrow’s ex Chris Martin was also on hand for the event and helped out by creating Game of Thrones: The Musical in a hilarious sketch that aired during the telecast.

They were joined by stars including John Krasinski, Emily Blunt, Michelle Rodriguez, Gwyneth Paltrow, the coaches on The Voice, Richard Gere, Jennifer Garner, One Direction, Zac Efron, Helen Mirren, Robert Pattinson, and many more. In a daring move, the Goop founder was lowered into the room in Mission Impossible-style harness. (Okay, for full disclosure, it may have been a stunt double up on the roof.) Either way, it was the real Gwyneth once inside. Clad in a skintight black catsuit, the mother of two had everything under control — until her ropes didn’t quite reach the ground and (literally) left her hanging above the stage.

Yes, the Brit crashed the first car he tried to park (apparently he didn’t take American driver’s ed before getting the plum gig), but he looked so great doing it, no one cared one bit (well, except for the person whose car he crashed). She “has what I describe as a distinctive voice,” Jodie Foster reflected. “It’s not what I would associate with a Hollywood leading lady.” So, what is this mysterious voice you wonder? “It’s a prizefighter. In an “unedited” clip from Erin Brokovich (the role that won her an Oscar a while back), Roberts’ voice was a far cry from the lilting feminine tone we’ve come to know and love.

Some of the show’s most recognizable faces came out for the occasion, including Nikolaj Coster-Waldeau (who plays the aristocratic Jaime Lannister) and Emilia Clarke, who belted out a Rastafarian ode inspired by her Targaryen namesake.
