Tina Fey and Amy Poehler Finally Play Sisters in the First Trailer for Their New Comedy.

Had Jimmy Fallon only welcomed his former Weekend Update co-anchor from “Saturday Night Live” to “Tonight” on Monday, it would have been awesome enough.

They’re the three best friends that anyone could have! and caught up with their longtime pal Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show on Tuesday, July 14, and played one particularly hilarious game of True Confessions. “Here’s how the game works,” Fallon, 40, explained to Poehler, 43, and Fey, 45. “In front of each of us are two envelopes containing confessions. Over their 22 years as partners in comedy, they’ve anchored Weekend Update together, they’ve thrice hosted the Golden Globes together, and they’ve written adorable love letters and acrostic poems to each other. Fey faced the heat first, reading from her card, “I was once mistaken for a prostitute in Monaco.” After some tough questioning from Fallon and Poehler, Fey was forced to admit that the incident happened in 1992 when she was wearing a brown-and-white polka-dot jumpsuit from Express, and that the confession was, in fact, true. “My cousin and I, we went to the casino — we thought it was gonna be like bands playing or whatever — and it was just ice cold, just weird Europeans quietly gambling,” Fey explained. “We were the youngest people there and my cousin is really pretty, she’s like blonde and really tall, and I was just like, with her. They’re like Scottie and Westie puppies in a basket.” While I’m still hoping for the Tina-and-Amy vehicle Scottie and Westie Puppies in a Basket, they’ll finally play siblings in the new comedy Sisters, and the first trailer came online Wednesday morning. The game consisted of them trying to decide if “confessions” contained in envelopes were truths or lies — and of course the lies were actually more awesome than the truths.

After Poehler gave her confession of “I once helped Yoko Ono cross the street,” she and Fey took the chance to premiere the new trailer for their upcoming movie, Sisters. Focusing on Fey and Poehler’s chemistry seems like a wise decision, and the movie will unsurprisingly also feature a number of SNL stars and alums, including Maya Rudolph, Bobby Moynihan, Rachel Dratch, and Kate McKinnon, along with the WWE-wrestler-turned-sudden-comedy-star John Cena. The pair’s first big-screen collaboration since 2008’s Baby Mama, Sisters stars the comedians as two women who return to their childhood home to throw one last massive rager before their parents sell the house.
