‘The Walking Dead’ Season 6: 12 EW exclusive photos.

If you haven’t yet seen our new EW Walking Dead cover starring Melissa McBride, Andy Lincoln, and Norman Reedus, you should. If there’s one thing we learned last season on The Walking Dead, it’s that when Carol Peletier offers you cookies, you take them…because you may not like the other option she has in mind.“The Walking Dead” stars Andrew Lincoln as Rick, Chandler Riggs as Carl, Danai Gurira as Michonne, Melissa McBride as Carol, Sonequa Martin-Green as Sasha, Lauren Cohan as Maggie, Steven Yeun as Glenn, Norman Reedus as Daryl, Lennie James as Morgan, Seth Gilliam as Father Gabriel, Michael Cudlitz as Abraham, Josh McDermitt as Eugene, Alanna Masterson as Tara, Christian Serratos as Rosita, Tovah Feldshuh as Deanna, Ross Marquand as Aaron, Alexandra Breckenridge as Jesse, and Austin Nichols as Spencer.

Carter obviously has issues with the way Rick is running Alexandria as we dig into season 6 so his conflict will be an interesting story to watch this year. Follow the hashtag #50Scoops50Days on Twitter and Instagram to keep up with the latest, and check EW.com/50Scoops50Days for all the news and surprises. We also have a new photo of Corey Antonio Hawkins’ Heath, who was introduced last month. (Not that kind of playing doctor, Richonne hopefuls.) Denise is without a doubt the role that we were hoping Wever was signed up for, although the producers were cagey about releasing that info when her casting was revealed at Comic-Con. With the survivors now deeply embedded inside the Alexandria Safe Zone, Rick and his people are going to encounter even more townspeople – a couple of which are going to look very familiar to comic book readers.

It was announced at Comic-Con in San Diego that Ethan Embry and Merritt Wever would be joining the cast, but no other details were given on whom they would be playing. The Spoiling Dead Fans recently reported that Josh McDermitt, the actor who plays Eugene Porter, was spotted trying to cover his face with a towel after filming scenes for the show.

Lincoln and Reedus were behind McBride and Lincoln started laughing and was unable to maintain any actor composure in front of photographer Dan Winters’ camera. A lot of characters that you didn’t see having beef are starting to have beef—there’s a lot of mistrust.” Ultimately, it comes down to what Lincoln says is, “them and us.

In addition, Den of Geek website mentioned that Merrit Wever and Ethan Embry will join the cast for the upcoming season, though their roles are still unspecified. Gimple] up and went, ‘You know, I say them and they, and us and we a lot.” He said, ‘That’s your journey, from them to us.’” It’s a journey that will complicated by the presence of both Wolves and walkers, and will also jump around in terms of time, starting with the Oct. 11 season premiere. “We do play with time a little bit,” says executive producer Greg Nicotero, who directed the premiere. “And not in a traditional sense. Meanwhile, Embry plays Carter who is “a combo of a few characters [from the comics] that we actually haven’t hit yet or weren’t able to hit in other characters”, said showrunner Scott M. No one’s gonna see this!’” “After a little investigating, we realized Reedus had been trying to hold Lincoln’s hand in the photos behind McBride’s back.

Lennie James confirms that we will indeed get answers as to what changed Morgan from the loony tunes character we saw in season 3 to the stick-wielding semi-pacifist we encountered outside Alexandria (“He has gone through a transformation that viewers will find out about,”) and we will also see some backstory to events that happened in Alexandria before Rick and Co. arrived. Denise’s role as a medic becomes critical in the community of Alexandria after the death of Pete, and in the comic her skills as a surgeon prove pivotal, especially after a ghastly injury incurred by one of the main characters—an injury which may or may not happen on the TV version. Do you think Denise Cloyd will patch Carl Grimes up after he loses an eye, or will the boy get to keep both peepers because of the extra makeup time an eye loss would cost? Reedus knows how to make a great picture and also likes to give great imagery to his fans, so I asked the trio if we could shoot them from behind, and then I told Melissa McBride to turn her head towards the camera.

Gimple cautions it will not involve the origins of the community (like last year with Terminus). “It’s earlier in Alexandria,” says Gimple of the flashbacks, “but not the beginning of Alexandria. Everyone needs a cheeky Norman Reedus.” Check out the “before” picture below and click on the “ENLARGE PHOTO” tab on the “after” picture up top to see it in all its butt-grabbing glory. There are some stories filled in regards to the comic that we haven’t even gotten to yet—sort of prequeling some comic stories that are coming up, which I’m very excited about.” For more intel on what to expect in season 6—including scoop on the Wolves and newer, even more disgusting zombies—check out the new issue of Entertainment Weekly, which hits stands in Friday. It’s already been announced that Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton) will be playing a character named Heath from the comic who is a supply-runner for the town (and one who becomes romantically linked to Denise in the original source material), but we’ve got an exclusive new photo for you above.
