‘Walking Dead’: Who Will Die in the Midseason Finale?.

So many cast members, so much potential death, as we approach the mid-season finale of “The Walking Dead.” Last year, we lost Beth. After revealing Glenn’s fate in the penultimate episode of the year, the walkers started making their way into Alexandria after the nearby tower collapsed and took down part of the wall with it. The events set up Sunday’s midseason finale, “Start to Finish,” with Glenn and Enid on the outskirts of the community as well as Daryl, Abraham and Sasha seemingly on the road back home.

This year is shaping up to be even bigger than that, with hundreds of zombies ready to tear through Alexandria, a Wolf hiding out in Morgan’s (Lennie James) basement, Carl (Chandler Riggs) on the brink of being shot for no good earthly reason, and Glenn (Chandler Riggs), Daryl (Norman Reedus), Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) and Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) currently unable to help any of them. So I have no idea what is going to happen but it’s clear with the fence down and hundreds of walkers entering Alexandria that things are about to get ugly fast. Morgan is holding a Wolf captive, Ron is taking aim at Carl, a new human group that might be Negan’s camp are seemingly nearby and the herd is poised to bring chaos to the formerly peaceful community. While the sight of Glenn having his guts ripped out of his chest had the rest of us staring at our TVs in shock, a small group of eagle-eyed conspiracy theorists began claiming Glenn’s “death” was not what it seemed. I have not read the comics and while the show sometimes adheres to them, they just as often do not. (If you want to know what happened during the zombie attack in the comics, read here.) So let’s rank the various cast members in terms of likelihood of dying, from least likely to most likely.

Glenn, one of the show’s most popular characters, died early on in the sixth season of the show when he and Alexandria resident Nicholas found themselves trapped on top of a rubbish skip down a dead end and surrounded by zombies. That plan goes out the window when Jessie’s son son, Ron, is bitten and she grabs Carl in a bid to help — only Jessie is bitten in the process and won’t release Carl. It’s then that Douglas — the leader of Alexandria (and on whom the show’s Deanna is based) shows up and tries to fire aimlessly at the walkers in a misguided attempt to save the bitten Jessie and Ron.

Fans of AMC’s The Walking Dead have been buzzing since the ending of the latest Season 6 episode after a mysterious voice contacted Daryl on a walkie talkie and asked for help. Gimple likes to do, the AMC drama is a remixed version of the comics so it’s quite possible that many of the events of the comic may not happen to the same people on the small screen. She was the first of the Alexandrians to fall in line and spoke out about what the formerly ill-prepared residents need to do if they’re to survive in this world. We’re ducking for cover here but let’s look at the evidence: Morgan refuses to kill people and let a number of Wolves go, while keeping one within the walls.

It seems like the episode two weeks ago where he was able to move forward and look to the future in a brighter way dooms him to death in some nasty way.
