‘Luther,’ ‘Frankenstein’ Among Fox Pilot Orders.

Fox threw its hat into the pilot ring Tuesday night, picking up three dramas including adaptations of and Frankenstein as well as a comedy from The Mindy Project’s Charlie Grandy.

Fox has greenlit three new drama pilots and a comedy, says TheWrap, adding that they include a remake of BBC’s “Luther,” a Frankenstein reboot, and a limited crime series. “Frankenstein” comes from 20th Century Fox, executive producer and writer Rand Ravich (“Crisis,” “Life”) and Howard Gordon (“24,” “Homeland”). “It follows Ray Pritchard, a morally corrupt retired cop, who is given a second chance at life when he is brought back from the dead. Fox describes him as “a near-genius murder detective whose brilliant mind can’t always save him from the dangerous violence of his passions.” Neil Cross, who created the original program, is writing and executive producing. Charlie Grandy is writing the pilot, which Fox calls, “a show about one husband’s desperate struggle to not let every weekend go completely to hell.” Grandy, Peter Traugott, and Rachel Kaplan are executive producing. His eternal optimism will frustrate the cynical female detective he often works with, but she can’t argue with the results that his unique perspective provides.
