‘Big Bang Theory’ Recap: How The Beach Boys brought TV’s nerdiest couple back together.

Attention all Shamy fans! On this week’s episode of “The Big Bang Theory” Sheldon (Jim Parsons) is desperately trying to figure out the song that has been stuck inside his head. Meanwhile, Amy — who he shunned after their Thanksgiving outing to the aquarium — is looking for companionship and calls kinda-ex-boyfriend Dave (Stephen Merchant) hoping to give things another try.

I know their catalog is magical, but I never expected that the lyrics of “Darlin” could transform the mind of a brilliant physicist into a lovey-dovey puddle of goo. Emmy award winner Bob Newhart returns as Sheldon’s Obi-Wan Kenobi in episode 10 titled, The Opening Night Excitation, which airs next Thursday, 17 December at 8pm EST on CBS.

After Amy Farrah Fowler (Mayim Bialik) broke up with Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) in the Season 8 finale last May, fans have been not-so-patiently waiting throughout Season 9 for the pair to reunite. Things were looking grim after the Nov. 19 Thanksgiving episode, when Amy and Sheldon had a difficult confrontation after their aquarium date — where Amy asked Sheldon to get back together, but her neurotic ex, fearing more heartbreak, refused.

This time, Amy (Mayim Bialik) plans to have him over for dinner and some alone time at her apartment. “You’ve never really been with a man,” Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) tells her. “Are you sure you want to start with one that is six-foot-seven? Also, Leonard, Wolowitz, and Koothrappali must decide who will take their extra Star Wars movie ticket, on The Big Bang Theory.” In the last episode, Sheldon finally realises that he is still in love with Amy after the song struck in his head turns out to be about Amy. It is like taking your drivers test in a bus!” Over at Howard’s (Simon Helberg) lab, Raj (Kunal Nayyar) reveals that he has set up a Facebook page for their band Footprints on The Moon and they now have their first official fan.

According to a leaked report, Sheldon will follow Professor Proton’s advice and decide to skip the premiere of Star Wars The Force Awakens movie, to be with Amy on her birthday. Sheldon resorts to filming his every move, determined to document the integral parts of his life so future Crazy Sheldon will have a fighting chance in the world. Noting that her love softens him, just like the lyrics in the song, Sheldon declared, “She’s like the dryer sheets of my heart!” and rushed out the door. This includes a video explaining why the thermostat is always set at 72 degrees, his beloved spot on the couch, and the fact that if Penny offers him food in the future, it’s safe to eat because he probably purchased said food anyway. She accepts and the couple share a passionate, yet slightly awkward kiss, which sets the stage for next week’s mid-season finale, where producers have already revealed the two characters will finally consummate their relationship.

The friends follow Trent when he checks into social media at a local coffee shop and are heartbroken when Trent digs for gold in public and eats the remnants. It wasn’t hard to act.” Mayim Bialik who plays Amy said: “I was kind of nervous when I first saw where it was going — that it was going to feel voyeuristic or kind of icky, but it’s very tender.

As Penny and Leonard tried to sleep, Sheldon’s keyboard playing kept them awake, and Penny asked Leonard to talk to him but Leonard told Penny to do it. Dave pops his head from behind the door, introduces himself to his idol, and demands, “Kiss her you brilliant fool!” Sheldon smiles, grabs Amy, and kisses her.
