Duggar Family Reality Show “19 Kids and Counting” To Be Cancelled (Video).

TLC is mulling options on how to proceed with their hit reality series in the wake of the Duggar family’s ongoing scandal, including dropping eldest son Josh Duggar from the show, according to TMZ. The US cable channel TLC pulled the reality series “19 Kids and Counting” from its schedule on Friday, a move that follows reports of sexual misconduct allegations against one of the stars, Josh Duggar, stemming from when he was a juvenile. In a statement, the channel said it was “deeply saddened and troubled by this heartbreaking situation, and our thoughts and prayers are with the family and victims at this difficult time.” The statement didn’t elaborate.

The network’s research is said to have determined that the Duggar daughters have become the show’s “driving force,” with episodes focusing on Jill and Jessa Duggar’s weddings and the birth of Jill’s baby receiving strong ratings. Also on Friday, Arkansas police said they had destroyed a record outlining a nearly decade-old investigation into Duggar, a day after the 27-year-old resigned his role with a prominent conservative Christian group amid reports about the allegations. The magazine published a police report that claimed Josh Duggar fondled five young girls 12 years ago. “As a young teenager, I acted inexcusably for which I am extremely sorry and deeply regret. I hurt others, including my family and close friends.” In a typical example of its anti-gay views, the FRC has a page on its website which states that gay people should not be allowed to work with children, because “disproportionate numbers of gay men seek adolescent males or boys as sexual partners”.

The Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, which obtained the offense report before its destruction, reports Duggar was accused of fondling five girls in 2002 and 2003. Anger has been mounting on social media since it has also been revealed that Duggar’s father had known for a whole year about his son’s alleged molestations before he reported it to the authorities, and that Josh Duggar was never prosecuted because it was then outside of the statute of limitations. ‘In Touch Magazine’ has reported on nine different occasions when the fiercely homophobic Duggar lectured people on family values before his “inexcusable” actions.

News, his parents, Michelle and Jim Bob, reported the situation to a state trooper a year after they found out about the situation and put him into counseling. He chose to make bigoted comments about #lgbt individuals being dangers to kids – he chose to do ALL OF THOSE THINGS while hiding the fact his father had essentially covered up Josh having, by his own admission, molested his sisters as a teenager.

The startling accusation about the deeply religious Duggars, whose daily lives as a huge conservative evangelical Christian family were broadcast through the hit “19 Kids and Counting” series and in specials showing the older kids getting married and having kids of their own, is the second such blemish for TLC in a mere six months. One such time was when he argued that an LGBT nondiscrimination measure in Arkansas jeopardised the safety of children: ‘Enacting additional laws that are trying to protect one group of people over another is not really the solution and in fact it has the inverse effect on others… We have to make sure we’re standing up to protect the rights of privacy and protecting the well-being of women and children in our cities.’ His actions however were not met with total disapproval as conservative US Republican Presidential Candidate US Mike Huckabee quickly issued a statement saying that Duggar should be forgiven for what he dismisses as a ‘mistake by a teenager’. Michelle Duggar, left, holding two-month-old Johannah, along with her oldest son, Joshua, 17, holding 20-month-old Jackson, line up with the other Duggar family members to greet a television crew from Korea at their home in Springdale, Arkansas The report, originally published by tabloid In Touch Weekly, states that a member of Harpo Studios, the producer of Oprah Winfrey’s then show, received an email containing the allegations before the family was set to appear in 2006.

However, The New York Daily News reported that this state trooper has been convicted for child pornography and in currently serving a 56-year prison sentence. Huckabee was recently also in the news for his other views of parenting when in a book he criticised President Obama and the First Lady for their approach to parenting which evidently gave him such great offence. Turns out the ‘danger’ to kids is Duggar himself.” “The entire purpose of my rant about Josh Duggar is to illustrate a simple truth: Everything we judge we walk through,” wrote Williams in quoting Luke 6:37.

Zimmerman didn’t return a request for comment on Friday. “The judge ordered us yesterday to expunge that record,” Lewis said, adding that similar records are typically kept indefinitely. “As far as the Springdale Police Department is concerned this report doesn’t exist.” Several Arkansas Republicans have rallied behind the Duggar family, which is still engaged in state politics. I understood that if I continued down this wrong road that I would end up ruining my life.” Anna Duggar, Josh’s wife, as well as her parents, have reportedly known about the assaults before they married. Since the allegations have surfaced, Josh has resigned from his position at the Family Research Council, a Christian lobbying organization based in Washington, D.C.

Jon Woods, who has known the Duggars since 2005, said the family had put the issue behind them. “It’s between the family members and was addressed a long time ago but it’s new to the public,” Woods said. “The family had time to heal and now the public needs time to heal.” Last October, TLC canceled a series about child beauty pageant contestant Honey Boo Boo and her Georgia family amid reports that her mother, June Shannon, was dating a man with a criminal past.
