Kid obsessed with a personal injury lawyer has the best party ever.

A mother in Prairieville, Louisiana celebrated her son’s second birthday by throwing him a party featuring his current favorite person in the world — personal injury lawyer Morris Bart.In today’s Pinterest-filled world, it’s hard to come up with an original birthday party theme, but 2-year-old Grayson Dobra from Prairieville, Louisiana has defied the odds. When choosing a theme for their toddler’s birthday party, most parents would settle on a distinctly child-oriented one – such as superhero, pirate, ballerina, Mickey Mouse, or perhaps the Muppets. The Advocate’s George Morris reports that L’erin Dobra didn’t decide on the theme so much as her son, Grayson, chose it. “Before he could walk or talk, every time the Morris Bart commercial would come on, he was just fixated”, she said.

The youngster has a bizarre fascination with Morris Bart, a personal injury and car accident lawyer whose face adorns TV adverts across the states of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Arkansas. But now he wants to watch Morris Bart commercials.” A fixture for his New Orleans-area television spots, Bart’s signature “One Call, That’s All!” tagline is accompanied by soothing background music. He would just sit and stare at the TV.” Dobra also explained that Grayson “always randomly says, ‘One call, that’s all,’” the surprisingly punchy slogan that punctuates all of Bart’s commercials. “He likes to watch the reruns of the commercials on YouTube,” she added, and “so, coming to his second birthday party, there’s all this pressure.

So, Mrs Dobra decided to throw him his dream party – featuring a birthday cake emblazoned with Bart’s picture, a signed Bart photo, a cut-out of the lawyer and even a small Bart-themed T-shirt. Bart did not come to the party but did send along an autographed photo, key chains bearing his likeness, and a New Orleans Pelicans shirt with his company logo. When he started talking, he’d say, “One call” or “Bart, Bart, Bart, Morris Bart, Morris Bart”. ‘If you put it on him, you’d better not try to take it off. We had a Mickey Mouse party for his first birthday, and I didn’t want to do the same thing.” As I can personally attest, having grown up in Baton Rouge, it’s impossible to watch television in the mid-afternoon or anytime after midnight without being regularly reassured that Morris Bart “is on your side,” so it’s a little jarring to learn that this is the first Morris Bart-themed children’s birthday party — or at least, the first of which Bart’s office is aware. “We do have people call wanting autographed pictures or want a chance to meet with Mr. She ditched the standard superhero and race car themes, and instead decided to revolve his birthday party around—you guessed it—middle-aged lawyer Morris Bart.

Employees at Gambino’s Bakery — world famous for their king cakes — said that this was the first request they’ve received to have Morris Bart’s comforting countenance screened onto a cake. Bart’s firm’s marketing chief, Kaley Wilkins-Fabre, told the paper that she had been initially surprised by the request, but once it had been verified was delighted to assist by sending the signed photo and other goodies including key rings. “I told her, ‘No, he’s having a Morris Bart birthday party.’ She said, ‘OK, that’s a first.’”. The mom requested some photos of Morris Bart from his marketing assistant and made a cardboard cutout and t-shirt with his face on it, the attorney told The Huffington Post.

According to The Acadiana Advocate, when Dobra called to order a Bart-themed cake from the local Gambino’s Bakery, the employee on the phone thought she meant Bart Simpson. They were not his first words, but they were a close second and third.’ Now, Grayson – whose first birthday party was Mickey Mouse-themed – is so obsessed with Bart and his law company that he even watches reruns of his adverts on YouTube, his mother said. When she received the photo of the Bart who was to appear on the cake and discovered the party theme, the employee said, “OK, that’s a first.” When Morris Bart himself read about the birthday party, he was delighted. “It brought a big smile to my face,” he told HuffPost, adding, “It’s nice to be embraced in such a flattering way.” Bart has invited Grayson and the whole Dobra family to visit his law offices and meet him in person. “I would love the opportunity to meet him,” he said. As for why he think the story has gone so viral, Bart looked back to his childhood and remembered his own fascination with certain local commercials. “Think of how many millions of people were fascinated by some local jingle or local commercial on television when they were growing up,” he said. “I think that’s why this story has really resonated with so many.”

Bart also took the tot’s fascination with his ads as a sign that Grayson may have a legal future ahead of him. “He might be a future lawyer…That could be a future competitor of mine many years down the road.” Bart said he’s been advertising on television for 35 years and as his own pitchman, it’s not surprising to get a call from a fan asking for an autograph.
