Lorde joins Taylor Swift live onstage to perform ‘Royals’Monday night, Taylor Swift performed in D.C. as part of her “1989” tour. During the gig at Nationals Park on Monday, Swift was singing on the elevated platform when it broke and she could not come down, but she continued the show until the set was fixed a few minutes later. She expanded her squad with the Women’s World Cup-winning team on Friday at MetLife Stadium, but on Monday, in Washington, DC, Taylor Swift called on one of her core members to step up to the stage. But Nationals Park, where the concert took place, wasn’t the only place you could hear some Swift lyrics after Fox 5 weatherman Mike Thomas showed his fandom during his forecast. “I know what you’re thinkin’,” Thomas starts. “’Mike, I knew you were trouble when you walked in, Mr. Weatherman.’” It only gets better from there. “I don’t foresee this event getting cancelled but in the event that it does rain, hey haters, you can leave some hate, hate, hate in the comment section below.”

In the meantime, I’m gonna sing a song for you called Clean and I hope you’ll sing along.” Another highlight of the show was when the star brought her singer friend Lorde onstage as a surprise guest. They performed “Royals” together: “They just told me in my ear that I might be stuck up here forever,” she told the packed stadium. “This thing is broken.” She laughed it off and handled it with aplomb: Soon enough, the issue was resolved, and the concert continued as normal. “I’m so happy, you guys!” she told fans. “I didn’t know what I was going to do!”
