The Who announce new tour dates as Daltrey recovers from meningitis.

The band said Tuesday that The Who Hits 50! tour will start on February 27 in Detroit. NEW YORK (AFP) – The Who on Tuesday rescheduled dates for next year in what the rock legends say will be their last tour after lead singer Roger Daltrey fell ill. But the last leg of the marathon tour, which was scheduled to start in early September, was postponed as the 71-year-old Daltrey came down with viral meningitis.

Daltrey said in a statement that “I am now on the mend and feeling a lot better.” Guitarist Pete Townshend added that the band “will be coming back stronger than ever!” The Who usually start shows with their classic track “I Can’t Explain” and play many of the band’s other emblematic hits including “My Generation,” “The Kids are Alright” and “Who Are You.”
