‘RHOA’ Season 8 Trailer: Peter Tells Wife Cynthia To ‘F**K Off’ — Watch.

Kim Fields and her family have been approached many times by reality TV producers eager to have the actress on their shows—but the newest Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member took a while to finally say yes. In the ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ Season 8 premiere, we find out Kandi is pregnant, Kenya has a new 24-year-old boyfriend and Cynthia is dealing with a cheating scandal!

It’s something different,” the Facts of Life and Living Single star says of finally taking the leap. “If you’re going to look up and celebrate 40 years of doing something, at this point, for me at least, the next logical progression is what’s challenging? They weren’t trying to change her or have some sort of “reality manufactured version of Kim,” she said. “They wanted who Kim is in this environment, and that was interesting to me.” Kim decided to play in the RHOA playground while maintaining her other gigs.

She is headed to Broadway to play Matron Mama Morton in Broadway’s “Chicago” from Nov. 23-Dec. 20, she has guest-hosted “The Real” and she appears on HSN to sell pieces from her fashion line: But don’t think she’s NeNe’s replacement. “Ain’t nobody replacing NeNe Leakes,” she said. “No way, no way.” The two finally met when NeNe surprised the RHOA ladies on their trip to the Bahamas. Jackie advises Kandi to lessen her workload since she suffers from fibroids. “Any time you’re over 35 years old, they say it’s a high-risk pregnancy,” Kandi says in her confessional.

She tells Kandi to slow down because of fibroids and the fact she is 39. (My colleague Jenn Brett has an update on Kandi’s pending baby’s gender.) Bounce back. And while there’s no need for her to utilize last season’s rumored African prince-slash-sugar daddy, she doesn’t mind laying sugar on her new boo.

After getting pushed down to a recurring role last year, she has secured herself a full-time job (“Dish Nation” with Rickey Smiley) and a younger boyfriend Duke Williams to boot (24), a safety for the Buffalo Bills. In an attempt to win her own points, Porsha sets up a romantic afternoon at a hotel room — complete with champagne, chocolate-covered strawberries, and gifts — to welcome Duke back to Atlanta…and to ease him into the idea of meeting her family. Her previous husband Kordell Stewart was also a football player so she is clearly into this type. “Now I’m living in my truth and without apologies,” she said. They’re concerned about the age difference, and Porsha wants to convince them that “he’s the greatest thing since sliced bread.” Duke doesn’t necessarily say no.

Peter was defensive with Cynthia, saying the video was not a big deal, that nothing was going on. “Your hand braised over her breast,” she said. “It looks inappropriate.” He said it wasn’t how it looked. But they have other issues since he spends so much time in Charlotte overseeing a sports bar there. “There’s no real communication,” Cynthia said. She summons her misbehaving hubby to their porch, where she’s wearing black “like you ‘bout to bury someone,” according to Peter. “I was having a conversation with the person. She ain’t trying to f—k me, and I’m not trying to f—k her.” Cynthia, who says that she’ll always try to protect and defend her husband, doesn’t let him off that easy.

I have heard nothing about her TV show getting picked up, but she notes on the show that she’s “attracting all these guys.” She also bought a new home, a foreclosure that needs work. Ironically, Kenya’s new digs are 500 feet away from Chateau Sheree — the massive mansion that former housewife Sheree Whitfield never got around to finishing.

It turns out, Sheree and Kenya are new neighbors and Kenya had heard some people talking about Sheree’s unfinished house and how it’s disruptive to the neighborhood. Kenya quickly throws shade at her in this episode, wondering as neighbors whether she might come by to ask for coffee or “money for the light bill.” Ouch! According to Phaedra, she and Apollo correspond “quite frequently,” and they’re “cordial.” But Todd’s heard differently. “He hasn’t seen the kids,” Todd tells Kandi. “He says right now, he only calls once a month.

Phaedra Parks, now nearly a year since her husband Apollo Nida was imprisoned, still feels Kandi didn’t support her as much as she could have over the ordeal. And now there are some unresolved money issues, too, regarding Kandi’s husband Todd Tucker helping Phaedra out with a workout video two years earlier but not getting paid. Todd wants Kandi to confront Phaedra, but Kandi and Phaedra still aren’t on the best terms after last season. “I don’t f—k with you ‘cause you’re shady, shiesty…and you’re talking s—t,” Todd vents to Kandi regarding Phaedra. “If you do that to us, there’s no telling what you’ll do to anybody else.” Cynthia confides in her sister, Malorie, about her Peter problems. He maintains his innocence as Marlo tries to play peacemaker (while mumbling that Peter seems guilty, of course). “I strongly believe in giving people the benefit of a doubt.
