Larry Wilmore to Host 2016 White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

“Larry’s edgy, even provocative, brand of humor means he’s certainly up to the task of skewering politicians of all ideological stripes, and we don’t expect the nation’s news media to escape unscathed, either,” said WHCA President Carol Lee, a White House correspondent for The Wall Street Journal, in a statement. “We are thrilled that Larry has accepted our invitation to be the featured comedian at our annual dinner, which will be the last during the Obama White House.” The Nightly Show is well-known for its political satire, with Wilmore covering everything from the Republican presidential candidates to social justice issues across the nation. The WHCA™ dinner is traditionally attended by the President and the First Lady as well as other senior government officials and members of the press corps.

The comic news show is also home to the now-signature “Keep It 100″ segment, where guests are asked to share their real, unfiltered opinion on a hot topic or thought-provoking question.
