On Her Way Home to Tennessee, Taylor Swift Decided to Make a ‘Special Stop’ in Colorado — Here’s Why.

In the true holiday spirit of giving, the pop star took time from her busy schedule on Saturday (Dec. 19) to visit 13-year-old Delaney Clements, whose been battling cancer for five years. My new best friend (as I call her now ) made a special stop from going home to Tennessee and surprised me and gave me the best present/hug ever!” Clements wrote on Instagram on Saturday afternoon while posing for a photograph with Swift, reports eonline.com. Swift made the “special stop” in the Centennial State after a social media campaign aimed at connecting the singer with Delaney Clements grabbed her attention.

Unfortunately, Clements’s mother Wendy Campbell delivered a sombre update earlier this month where she told followers that hospice care was imminent. “We are so blessed to be surrounded with so many wonderful people who love and care for us and forever grateful for all the support we have received over the past five years,” she shared on Facebook. Clements was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma when she was just 8, and has since created the nonprofit organization Delaney Donates, which helps local families affected by cancer.

The family, she told fans, has decided to keep her “as comfortable as possible and to keep her spirits uplifted as she travels on a journey we fought so hard to avoid.”
