On Her Way Home to Tennessee, Taylor Swift Decided to Make a ‘Special Stop’ in Colorado — Here’s Why.

In the true holiday spirit of giving, the pop star took time from her busy schedule on Saturday (Dec. 19) to visit 13-year-old Delaney Clements, whose been battling cancer for five years.Few superstars have proven themselves to be as devoted to their fans as Taylor Swift is to her “Swifties.” Case in point: As Swift traveled home to Tennessee for the holidays on Saturday, she made a very important stop along with way — to the Colorado home of mega-fan Delaney Clements, reports E! Swift made the “special stop” in the Centennial State after a social media campaign aimed at connecting the singer with Delaney Clements grabbed her attention. Unfortunately, Clements’s mother Wendy Campbell delivered a sombre update earlier this month where she told followers that hospice care was imminent. “We are so blessed to be surrounded with so many wonderful people who love and care for us and forever grateful for all the support we have received over the past five years,” she shared on Facebook.

An unrepentant Swift follower, Delaney dreamed of the chance to have face-to-face contact with her idol; thousands of Twitter users shared #DelaneyMeetTaylor in the hopes of connecting the two.
