LOS ANGELES — Taken is heading to the small screen, as NBC has handed a straight-to-series order on a prequel adaptation of the popular action movies, which starred Liam Neeson, Variety has confirmed.In the original Taken movie retired CIA agent Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) has to race across Europe in a bid to find his daughter who was kidnapped while on a trip to Paris.

According to Deadline, the series will follow Bryan – who famously boasts of the ‘very particular set of skills’ he ‘acquired over a very long career’ in the first film – as he develops those very skills. While Taken sees his beloved daughter Kim kidnapped by a human trafficking and prostitution ring and the third film brings the brutal demise of his ex-wife Lenore aka. The show, first reported by Deadline, will focus on how Mills acquires his expert skills that enabled him to become the character known to audiences today.
