Barbra Streisand Is Writing a Memoir.

The iconic singer, actor, and director Barbra Streisand is tackling her own life story in a memoir that will be published in 2017, Viking announced Wednesday. “There are over fifty unauthorized biographies about Ms.

Streisand that are full of myths and inaccuracies, and she is finally going to tell her own story,” Viking’s president and publisher Brian Tart said in a statement. Among her hit songs over the years are “The Way We Were,” “Evergreen (Love Theme from A Star Is Born)”, “No More Tears, (with Donna Summer), and “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers” (with Neil Diamond).

Her movie roles include Funny Girl (for which she won the 1968 best actress Oscar), The Way We Were, Yentl, Meet the Fockers and Prince of Tides (which she directed). She is the only person to earn Oscar, Tony, Emmy, Grammy, Directors Guild of America, Golden Globe, and Peabody awards, as well as receiving Kennedy Center Honors and the American Film Institute’s Life Achievement Award.
