People: Rapper Snoop Dogg helps deliver 1,500 turkeys in Inglewood.

Snoop Dogg has participated in an event in his home city of Los Angeles in which he helped to hand out 1,500 turkeys to families in need ahead of the American holiday thanksgiving this coming Thursday (November 26).The rap icon was joined by Inglewood Mayor James Butts along with other city officials for the giveaway on Thursday, NBC Los Angeles reported. “Snoop Dogg took pictures with over 800 people at the event. Mayor of Inglewood, California James Butts announced to TV channel KNBC-TV that Snoop had participated in the annual event for the second year running, taking hundreds of photos with fans.

On Thursday, Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr, attended the second annual Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway in Inglewood, California. The company cannot be legally owned by the rapper, as he does not live in Colorado, where it is based. “Wherever my musical journey has taken me around the world, it’s beautiful to see how chronic leafs are a common source of peace, love and soul that connects us all,” Snoop Dogg says in a statement on the company’s official website. “Since I’ve been at the forefront of this movement for over 20 years now, I’m a master of marijuana,” the rapper added at a launch event on Monday (November 9), according to The Guardian. “Leafs By Snoop is truly the first mainstream cannabis brand in the world and proud to be a pioneer.” Snoop Dogg did arrive to the turkey giveaway late, but explained his tardiness was for a good reason because he ran into Santa Claus, according to Vibe. Cobb County District Attorney Vic Reynolds said in a news release that Jimmy Carlton Winfrey pleaded guilty Friday to six counts of violating the Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act.

The rapper joked with the crowd that Santa wanted to chat, keeping him from arriving on time. “I was late today because I was talking to Santa Claus about a Christmas special and I said, ‘Santa I gotta get to Inglewood to pass out these turkeys.’ He was like, ‘Well hold on.’ I said, ‘Well hold on Santa I’ve got people waiting on me’ so I’m happy I’m here, Inglewood you know I love y’all.” “This is my second home. Inglewood has been good to me from day one and that’s why I love Inglewood and I just want to let y’all know I’m gonna be doing this every year.
