Benedict calls police over stalker fears.

PBS and “Masterpiece” finally unveiled the premiere date and title for the long-awaited 19th-century-set “Sherlock” special over the weekend, along with an even longer, juicier trailer. “Sherlock: The Abominable Bride” will air 9 p.m. eastern Friday, Jan. 1, on “Masterpiece Mystery!” on PBS. Trifling details to you, maybe, but not to fans of the hit series starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, which takes place in present-day England. The 90-minute special, “The Abominable Bride,” brings the characters back in time to 1890s London, the original setting of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock tales. Benedict Cumberbatch has reportedly called the police over ‘an obsessed fan’ who is said to have made several trips to the ‘Sherlock’ actor’s house, leaving red ribbons outside. In the latest trailer, Benedict Cumberbatch‘s version of Sherlock Holmes has brought his signature style of freeze-frame analysis to the 1890s, as a cobblestoned street chase is halted mid-step so Holmes can describe his findings to Dr.

And, for the first time in the series’ run, the special will air on the same day — January 1 — in the United States (on “Masterpiece Mystery” on PBS, 9 p.m. John Watson (Martin Freeman), Mary Morstan (Amanda Abbington) and Inspector Lestrade (Rupert Graves) – sporting some major scenery-chewing mutton chops.

We also get a look at the titular, gun-wielding “abominable bride,” and let’s just say you wouldn’t want to cross her path, even if she’s been brought to a standstill by Sherlock’s detailed scrutiny. But this individual has taken things to the next level and there was no option but to pursue official action.” “Turning up at professional events is one thing, but arriving uninvited at the family home is quite another.

An anonymous blogger posted a picture online of a baseball ball bat wrapped in barbed wire, directed at the couple, with the caption “Shall we start prepping for a possible funeral?” The blogger also wrote, “Both Martin Freeman and Amanda Abbington are starting to give Benedict and all his fans a bad name!
