Rock singer Scott Weiland found dead at 48, reports say.

Friends and news reports announced the Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver star’s death on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015. (Rich Fury/AP) (Rich Fury/AP) Los Angeles radio station KNAC reported that Weiland had been “found dead” on his tour bus. Weiland and his Wildabouts, in the midst of a tour, had been scheduled to play at the Medina Entertainment Center in Medina, Minnesota, on Thursday night but the show was cancelled without further comment. Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro tweeted out the news shortly after midnight EST. “Just learned our friend Scott Weiland has died,” he wrote. “So gutted, I am thinking of his family tonight.” Scott Weiland was born Scott Richard Kline on October 27th, 1967 in San Jose, California.

Velvet Revolver last performed together at a 2012 benefit concert. “That’s stuff I dealt with, like, 14 years ago,” he said. “I guess Keith Richards gets asked about it, so why shouldn’t I? The singer, who had a long and well-publicized battle with drugs and addiction, also put out four solo albums, including Blaster, his first with the Wildabouts, which came out earlier this year. 2015 may not bring everything that Back to the Future II promised it would: flying cars, self-lacing shoes, we don’t see ’em happening over the next 12 months. (Then again, don’t bet against Nike.) But this year will definitely pack plenty of punch when it comes to cultural happenings. Mad Max will roar back out of the apocalypse while Mad Men rides off into the sunset, rock’s Antichrist Superstar and hip-hop’s Yeezus will rise again.
