All Eleven ‘American Idol’ Judges To Return For Final Season – Confirmed!.

“I’ve spoken to all of them recently and we as a team have talked to them about coming back to do something for the final season,” Seacrest, 40, told Access Hollywood on Thursday. “American Idol” was a cultural institution for so many years that it only seems appropriate that so many people involved would honor it … with the people who sat at the famous judging panel being pretty high up on the list.

And since many shows spend their last seasons looking back on the past while reliving some former glory, it should come as no surprise that will be doing the same thing by bringing back Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson, the original trio of judges that helped turn the show into such a mega-hit to begin with. They are going to do it it’s just a matter of figuring what to do with them.” This is going to be an interesting mix as Ellen DeGeneres, Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj have all gone on record that judging American Idol was one of the worst decisions they have made in their careers.

Therefore, we’re pleased to hear that in the new year, everyone who has appeared on the judging panel at some point (including seemingly Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson Paula Abdul, Kara DioGuardi, Mariah Carey, Ellen DeGeneres, Nicki Minaj, and Steven Tyler) will be making an appearance. Also, it’s a little surprising that some of them are. (Hopefully, Seacrest’s “all” really is all-encompassing.) Nicki and Mariah repeatedly feuded on and around the show will they were on the panel a couple of years back, and Ellen was really only a part of the part of season 9 after the auditions. But they’ll be there in some capacity, although it’s also not clear if it’ll be for just a one-episode event or something spanning multiple inights. However it goes, it’ll be interesting to see the three originals mixing it up with the current trio of Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr.

When the story first broke, it wasn’t clear exactly who Seacrest was talking about, and speculation started up about whether or not American Idol could possibly get Ellen DeGeneres and Mariah Carey to return to the show, considering they have both been quite vocal about how much they disliked their experiences as judges.
