Kanye Might Have To Wait Until 2020, But Pusha T Is The President Now.

Just in time for the fifth anniversary of Kanye West’s once-weekly G.O.O.D Friday music releases, West has officially passed the presidency of the G.O.O.D Music label to friend/collaborator/labelmate Pusha T, he announced in a statement from the label. The rapper talked to Billboard about working with West and his plans for the label. “I think that artistically, me and Kanye have the same vision,” Pusha T tells Billboard. “He respects me as an artist, a really manicured artist. Rapper/producer/clothing designer/record label executive/future president Kanye West recently decided that being in charge of the day-to-day operations of his G.O.O.D. The wheels for the move were set in motion, like most things on earth, with a call from Kanye. “And I was like, ’Well, what are the things that you’re looking for?’ And he was basically just like, to manicure the label, make it profitable and be very business-oriented about it going forward in a manicured type of way.” King Push was up for the task and now, almost half-a-year later, he’s assuming the reigns. When it comes to albums and things like that, I have a very manicured process in which I get to take my time and I think he sorta respects that I get to take my time.” Pusha insisted that his new gig won’t have an impact on the timetable for his next album. “I got a head start on the album so we’re good.

You’ll be seeing that very shortly,” Pusha said. “F’real, what you’re gonna get from this King Push album is something people probably haven’t heard in the past 18 years. Music compilation in the vein of Cruel Summer was forthcoming anytime soon, Pusha T responded, “I definitely have that on my mood board.” Head over to Billboard to read the full story. Music brings to the music industry, our following and the culture” to establish G.O.O.D. as a force amongst all others in the entertainment industry. Pusha T says that this transition will help to bring the best out of Kanye, saying, “I think we’ll be getting the best out of him… because he gets to hone in as a producer.

Music, there’s been a host of artists that I’ve brought to the table, tried to sign, brought to his attention in trying to sign, whether something was super hot or I called it it’s not going to stand the test of time, it’s wack. You see how fashion takes over and these pop-up shops take over and how the music business is a real touring business now, just the things associated with it. Just building it out to make sure that everybody on the label is really capitalizing off of all the assets that really come with GOOD Music, that we really started, that we’ve really been good at.
