Hugh Jackman Names His Successor, Wants Tom Hardy to Be the Next Wolverine.

Los Angeles: With actor Hugh Jackman’s time as popular ‘X-Men’ character Wolverine nearing its end, he says he would like to see Tom Hardy step into his shoes. “I haven’t really given it a lot of thought, I’ve been asked that question a lot, and I’m always like, ‘I don’t want to make it too easy on the studio to replace me,’ you know? Hugh Jackman will forever be Wolverine in all of our hearts, but should his time as the famous X-Men mutant come to an end, he has an idea of who could become a good successor.

I’m sure they’re already talking about it, and there’s some actor [they’ve told] ‘shh, keep it quiet but we want you next.'” Hardy’s proven his action acting chops in everything from Mad Max: Fury Road to The Dark Knight Rises, and is currently scheduled for another stint in the comic book universe in the upcoming Hundred Bullets adaptation. Jackman will reprise the role for the last time as a stand alone feature in The Wolverine, and there’s a possibility he could make a cameo in X-Men: Apocalypse, Deadpool or Gambit.

I’ve got to find a way to keep playing him until I die.’ I know that someday they’ll recast the role with another actor…I’d be happy if the role was eventually recast.
