Check Out Natalie Portman as First Lady Jackie Kennedy.

LD Entertainment has joined to finance and produce director Pablo Larrain’s “Jackie,” starring Natalie Portman, Peter Sarsgaard, Greta Gerwig and John Hurt.We finally have a glimpse of Natalie Portman’s turn as former First Lady Jackie Onassis Kennedy — and it’s as strong, stylish, and iconic as expected.

It’s “Star Wars” week, and though Natalie Portman may not be anywhere near the current frenzy around the franchise that launched her into stardom, she’s still in the headlines today. The Oscar-winning actress’ upcoming role in the much-anticipated Jackie Kennedy biopic, Jackie, was first announced in May, and now there’s visual proof, courtesy of Getty Images and director Pablo Larrain. Darren Aronofsky is producing with his Protozoa Pictures partners Scott Franklin and Ari Handel, along with Fabula Films’ Juan de Dios Larrain and LD Entertainment’s Mickey Liddell. “Jackie” follows the movements of Jacqueline Kennedy after the assassination of President John F.

President JFK was assassinated in Dallas on November 22, 1963 with Jackie at his side, and was buried in a state funeral at Arlington National Ceremony on November 25, 1963. Kennedy from almost every angle – JFK with Kevin Coster saw a DA investigating the assassination, Parkland with Zac Efron depicted what went down with the doctors trying to save the President’s life, even X-Men: Days of Future Past fictionalized his death with mutants. Executive producers are LD Entertainment’s Jayne Hong, Pete Shilaimon and Jennifer Monroe, Why Not Productions’ Pascal Caucheteux, Bliss Media’s Wei Han, and Protozoa’ Joshua Stern.

The film also stars Greta Gerwig as Jackie Kennedy’s aid, Peter Sarsgaard as President Kennedy’s brother Robert, Max Casella as Jack Valenti, and Beth Grant as Ladybird Johnson. Other credits include the political drama “No,” which received a 2012 Oscar nomination for foreign-language film. “Jackie” is their first English-language feature. Credits include “Noah,” “Black Swan,” “The Wrestler,” “The Fountain,” “Requiem for a Dream” and “π.” “Jackie” joins a slate of LD Entertainment’s recent productions that includes Niki Caro’s “The Zookeeper’s Wife,” starring Jessica Chastain and Daniel Bruhl; Gabriela Cowperthwaite’s “Leavey,” starring Kate Mara and Edie Falco; Sean Ellis’ “Anthropoid,” with Cillian Murphy and Jamie Dornan; and “Risen” with Joseph Fiennes and Tom Felton. LD and Bliss Media will co-finance the film with Protozoa Pictures. “Pablo is a masterful filmmaker, the cast is top notch, and we are thrilled to be working with him and our producing partners,” said Liddell in a statement. Other upcoming films for Portman include Terrence Mallick’s Knight of Cups, Jane Got a Gun, and On the Basis of Sex in which she’ll play Ruth Bader Ginsberg.
