Body-shamed British “Dancing Man” parties with Monica Lewinsky in Hollywood.

A British man who was “body shamed” on the internet was made guest of honour at a party in Hollywood where he was joined by fellow cyber-bullying victim Monica Lewinsky.Sean O’Brien was ridiculed online a few months ago when someone snapped a picture of him boogying in a nightclub and mocked the overweight man for dancing.

In March, Sean O’Brien was mocked on social media by some kids making fun of the large man’s dance moves.Pictures of him happily dancing gave way to photos of him looking upset and downtrodden after being body-shamed. But celebrities and regular folks alike soon jumped to O’Brien’s defense, and using the hashtag #dancingman, they organized to find him and fund a massive dance party — with a GoFundMe crowd funding campaign raised more than $40,000 — for him. An hour before the party was even set to begin, celebrity guests like Tatiana Ali, Monica Lewinsky and Moby — who was expected to perform — were seen lining up to get in. Arriving on the red carpet at his party Mr O’Brien said: “Someone decided to pick on me, and it worked in his eyes, but it’s backfired in the world’s eyes. “There will always be bad in the world, but there’s far more good people.

Just look at what’s good about you, rather than what people think is what’s bad about you.” Miss Lewinsky, who has been described as the first victim of cyber-bullying, delivered a speech at the event, and bought Mr O’Brien a foot massage for the following day in case his dancing feet hurt. Mr O’Brien garnered the public’s attention after an image of him dancing was anonymously posted on the social media site 4chan in February, along with the comment, “Spotted this specimen trying to dance the other week.

And we just have to make the most of what we are.” They told Perez they’re selling t-shirts that say “I Am Dancing Man” — and 50 percent of the profits of these shirts would go to anti-bullying campaigns and organizations both here in the US and in London. One user, who reposted the image on Reddit, encouraged Mr O’Brien to keep doing his thing: “I find this behavior f**king despicable,” the post read. “If you’re out there big man, f**k those kids. They will be sending the message to those who mocked him. “If I knew who they were I would just invite them to come and dance because I think the kind of people who are doing these things are probably in a lot of pain themselves.

The celebration for, and about, O’Brien continued Sunday, when he threw out the first pitch at the Dodgers – Padres game at Dodgers Stadium — and he has never thrown a baseball in his life. The dance party took place at Avalon Hollywood, one of LA’s hottest clubs, and included guests such as Monica Lewinsky, who gave a TED talk on bullying in Vancouver in March, and Moby, who offered to DJ for free.
