‘Dancing Man’ Sean O’Brien gets his LA partySean O’Brien, aka The Dancing Man, honored last even in a huge Hollywood party got to throw out the first pitch Sunday in the Dodgers game against division rivals, the San Diego Padres. The ‘Dancing Man’ who became an internet hero after he was fat-shamed by trolls has just had a wild party in LA with some of the coolest celebs around.

A British man who was “body shamed” on the internet was made guest of honour at a party in Hollywood where he was joined by fellow cyber-bullying victim Monica Lewinsky.Sean O’Brien was ridiculed online a few months ago when someone snapped a picture of him boogying in a nightclub and mocked the overweight man for dancing.

He never threw a baseball in his life before Sunday but said playing catch with the Dodgers would have been a dream only a few days ago, let alone three months ago. The women promised Sean, 46, a glitzy star-studded night in Hollywood, and amazingly, Sean found out about the campaign and took to Twitter to proclaim his existence. But celebrities and regular folks alike soon jumped to O’Brien’s defense, and using the hashtag #dancingman, they organized to find him and fund a massive dance party — with a GoFundMe crowd funding campaign raised more than $40,000 — for him. And he admitted to being a bit nervous. “We’re going to be expanding it to more dance related activities going toward anti bullying and making sure that everyone feels comfortable in their own skin and to make being nice cool again and to basically stomp out bullies,” said Elyse Berger, one of the organizers. This weekend Sean danced and partied with the likes of Monica Lewinksy, former mistress of Bill Clinton, singer Meghan Trainor, while DJ Moby spun on the desks.

Arriving on the red carpet at his party Mr O’Brien said: “Someone decided to pick on me, and it worked in his eyes, but it’s backfired in the world’s eyes. “There will always be bad in the world, but there’s far more good people. Just look at what’s good about you, rather than what people think is what’s bad about you.” Miss Lewinsky, who has been described as the first victim of cyber-bullying, delivered a speech at the event, and bought Mr O’Brien a foot massage for the following day in case his dancing feet hurt. Mr O’Brien garnered the public’s attention after an image of him dancing was anonymously posted on the social media site 4chan in February, along with the comment, “Spotted this specimen trying to dance the other week. One user, who reposted the image on Reddit, encouraged Mr O’Brien to keep doing his thing: “I find this behavior f**king despicable,” the post read. “If you’re out there big man, f**k those kids. The dance party took place at Avalon Hollywood, one of LA’s hottest clubs, and included guests such as Monica Lewinsky, who gave a TED talk on bullying in Vancouver in March, and Moby, who offered to DJ for free.

According to TV station KCAL9, the event also raised $70,000 ($89,000) for a number of charities supporting anti-bullying and positive body image programs in the US and UK.
