‘No one wants to cry in front of 10,000 people': Miranda Lambert breaks down in tears during Wyoming concert days before announcing divorce from Blake Shelton.

Just two days before confirming her divorce, Miranda Lambert tried to keep a brave face in front of her adoring fans at the Cheyenne Frontier Days Festival, where her now-ex Blake Shelton was also headlining a concert the same weekend.Shelton is said to have filed papers to end the union some time ago and an Oklahoma judge is expected to finalize the split on Monday, according to TMZ.com.

The 31-year-old country songbird was the starring act on Saturday at the Wyoming music gathering where she performed her Grammy winning hits including The House That Built Me, which is the song the Voice coach had given to her. The estranged couple is allegedly sticking to the terms of its prenuptial agreement, which grants Shelton a ranch in Oklahoma, while Lambert will receive ownership of the pair’s home in Nashville, Tenn. The country superstars, a staple in the music awards show circuit and beloved by countless fans, confirmed their split to Us on Monday with a joint statement released by their reps. “This is not the future we envisioned,” the stars reflected. “And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. The 39-year-old crooner was last seen during the opening ceremonies for the NASCAR Sprint Cup series auto race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Sunday. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter.” The couple first met during an onstage duet at CMT’s 100 Greatest Duets Concert back in 2005, when Shelton was still married to his first wife, Kaynette Gern. “I didn’t know if it was just initial butterflies… I don’t know what it was,” Lambert later told Hoda Kotb in 2011 of the initial encounter. “It was just this draw to each other.” Shelton divorced Gern in 2006, and later recalled his first meeting with his future wife in an interview with VH1’s Behind the Music in 2011. “I’ve never had that kind of experience with anybody,” he said of the palpable chemistry exhibited during that performance. “I was a married guy, you know?

Standing up there and singing with somebody and going, ‘Man, this shouldn’t be happening.’ Looking back on that, I was falling in love with her, right there on stage.” In her final magazine interview before the split announcement — for Country Living’s June 2015 cover story — Lambert said she and Shelton were settling into a routine. “We’re building a new house, and I’ve been saving inspiration on Pinterest,” she explained of their day-to-day lives. “A friend of mine recently said, ‘I can see your Pinterest boards, and all you have on there are dog rooms.’ My husband and I have 15 rescue animals, and I spend way too much time planning our pets’ spaces. I’m like, okay, I probably need to move on to the laundry room!” She also said this year that her husband was her better half. “I’m not sunshine and roses. Blake’s the happiest person on the planet,” Lambert told Marie Claire in the January 2015 issue. “He pulls me out of my darkness … Literally, everything is the best about being married.”

The singer was due to perform at Alberta, Canada’s signature event but with just a little more than 24 hours to go she pulled the plug at her doctor’s advice. Blake’s finances were bolstered by him playing more than 40 solo gigs over the course of the year, while his wife enjoyed major success with her award-winning record Platinum.

According to the outlet, Lambert’s’ desperation to have a baby’ – and Shelton’s partying — ‘led to a confrontation that has ripped apart their three-year marriage.’ A source said at the time, ‘Friends think it’s the end for Blake and Miranda. She told him she wanted to start trying for a baby soon, but that he had to clean up his act first.’ Another friend added, ‘She’s done with him humiliating her and is ready for him to grow up and get serious about their family’s future. I have no doubt that she’s leaving Blake if he doesn’t change.’ ‘[I tell Miranda], “I have nothing to hide from you.” That’s always been our policy: “Here’s my phone. Go through it.” … That’s really the kind of trust we have … There are no secrets. [I’ll say], “Go dig through my drawers or my computer if you feel like you need to.” And that’s been a really good thing, because I don’t want her to ever have any doubts.’
