All About That Kiss! Meghan Trainor shocks audience as she passionately locks lips with Charlie Puth onstage at the American Music Awards.

It was the make-out session heard ’round the Web: At the end of their performance of Charlie Puth’s song “Marvin Gaye,” Puth and Meghan Trainor locked lips in what might be the most talked-about awards show kiss since Madonna smooched Britney Spears onstage during the 2003 Video Music Awards. But Meghan, 21, and Charlie, 23, continued their full-on make-out session long after the applause ended, leading many to believe in the sincerity of the passion on display. It wasn’t that Puth and Trainor had never kissed — an outtake of just such a kiss made the rounds on the Internet back in August after the release of Puth’s video for “Marvin Gaye.” What made the kiss so memorable was its passion — and its duration.

In an interview with the American Music Awards’ social media correspondent Chelsea Briggs, Charlie revealed that he and Meghan are however, strictly business. ‘There was a lot of making out. I think that’s it though,’ he said jokingly. ‘We’re friends and it’s all part of my whole vision when I made Marvin Gaye, for people to hear the record and spontaneously make out with each other. Not quite knowing how to follow the love birds’ act, Bryan quipped, “I’m still laughing at that Charlie and Meghan getting it on with a little smooch. It kept rolling after the commercial break.” The kiss apparently caught the attention of Nick Jonas, who was seen talking to Trainor after her performance.

The beautiful blonde is nominated in three categories this year: Artist of the Year, Favorite Female Artist- Pop/Rock, Favorite Artist- Adult Contemporary.
