Broadway Alum Carly Rae Jepsen & More Will Join Aaron Tveit in Grease Live!.

The Canadian singer behind the 2012 pop smash “Call Me Maybe” has signed on as Frenchy, a member of the Pink Ladies gang at fictional 1950s Rydell High. “Grease: Live” is set to air in a live three-hour block on Fox on Jan. 31, with Julianne Hough of “Dancing With the Stars” fame as Sandy, the nice girl who falls in love with bad-boy gang leader Danny (Aaron Tveit).Fox’s “Grease: Live” has found its remaining Pink Ladies, announcing Wednesday that “Call Me Maybe” singer Carly Rae Jepsen will play Frenchy and “You’re the Worst” actress Kether Donohue will play Jan in the live musical production. The trio join the previously cast Julianne Hough as Sandy, Aaron Tveit as Danny, Vanessa Hudgens as Rizzo, Carlos PenaVega as Kenickie and Keke Palmer as Marty. The 1978 movie version of “Grease” — itself an adaptation of the Broadway musical — starred John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John as Danny and Sandy.

But that’s not the end of the good news: Fox has announced that Kether Donohue, a.k.a. the newly single trainwreck Lindsay on FXX’s totally underrated and hilarious You’re the Worst, has signed up to play Jepsen’s fellow Pink Lady, Jan. West End alum and Grammy nominee Jessie J will open the live event with a performance of a brand-new version of “Grease (Is the Word),” first heard in the animated opening title sequence of the 1978 film, and written by Barry Gibb. The popular tuner, which features a score and book by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, follows teenagers in love during the soda shop culture of the 1950s. His credits also include the 100th episode of How I Met Your Mother and 2008’s MTV Movie Awards, as well as the films Eat Pray Love, Hairspray, 27 Dresses and 17 Again.
