Mary-Kate Olsen and Olivier Sarkozy Get Married in Private Manhattan Ceremony.

They may seem an unlikely pairing, but this weekend Mary-Kate Olsen and Olivier Sarkozy, the half brother of former French President Nicolas Sarkozy, made their union official as they tied the knot in New York. The 29-year-old former child actress Mary-Kate Olsen wed her partner for three years, 46-year-old Olivier Sarkozy, in a private and intimate ceremony in Manhattan, celebrity news site Page Six reported. “Party decor consisted of ‘bowls and bowls filled with cigarettes, and everyone smoked the whole night’”, Page Six reported quoting its sources. There’s no news on Olsen’s dress, but as the co-creative director of labels The Row and Elizabeth & James with her twin sister Ashley, it can be assumed it was a stylish design possibly of her own creation. The pair, who got engaged in February 2014, married before approximately 50 guests in an outdoor garden at a private residence before the fete moved indoors, where the newlyweds and their family and friends dined. When they started their relationship there were many raised eyebrows as the designer was 26 and Sarkozy 16 years her senior, with Olsen responding to the gossip in an interview with WSJ magazine.

Olsen, 29, and Sarkozy, 46, first stepped out together in 2012, and have since been mainstays in the New York City social scene, often spotted sitting courtside at basketball games or strolling through the streets together. The couple have been together since 2012 and became engaged in 2014, with Sarkozy, a banker, presenting the 29-year-old fashion designer with a huge vintage Cartier ring.
