Don’t even try to wake up Jessica Jones in Netflix series’ new teaser.

The clip shows Jones (Krysten Ritter) sound asleep as a clock by her bed strikes 3 p.m. — but when the alarm goes off, she uses her super-strength to get a bit more shut-eye.

Marvel’s “” is coming to Netflix on November 20, and if the latest teaser promo below is to be believed, we could be seeing a few alarm clocks that really are in danger of going off at the wrong moment. We’re likely very close to getting a full trailer, and now Marvel has just dropped the first footage from new Netflix series Jessica Jones – and it’s not exactly what you might expect. With AKA Jessica Jones as its source material, stars Krysten Ritter as a former superhero now working as a detective who gets pulled into cases in New York City. “Jessica Jones” is executive produced by series showrunner Melissa Rosenberg and Liz Friedman, along with Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s head of television. This video doesn’t give you much in the way of information about our title character, other than that she does have superpowers, and she also is a little bit of a mess.

Check it out in the player below for a clever tease of who we’ll be meeting when Krysten Ritter’s title character joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe! Following the success of “Daredevil” on Netflix, “Jones will be the second of the streaming service’s superhero series in partnership with Marvel”.

She might be the first Marvel superhero to be hungover (give or take whatever was up with Tony Stark in Iron Man 2), and in sharp contrast to the Avengers, the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Jessica Jones will be no different, and this is apparently the type of show with slow pans and shattered alarm clocks. “Luke Cage” and “Iron Fist” will bow next, leading up to “The Defenders“, in which all the main characters will join forces.

For those who do not know, Krysten Ritter is playing the title character, a woman who once attempted to be a superhero before falling victim to a variety of misfortunes. The series will also star David Tennant as villain Kilgrave, Mike Colter as Luke Cage, Rachael Taylor as Jessica’s best friend Trish Walker and Carrie-Anne Moss as a no-nonsense ally. Given that there are still almost two months between now and the premiere of this show, you better believe that we’ll have some further news all about it in the weeks ago. This establishes the “just getting by” nature of the lead and pays homage to a classic superhero trope: expressing human frustrations with superhuman strength.

In addition to this Jessica Jones teaser, here are other superheroes who didn’t know their own strength: While usually in control, when he breaks down emotionally, Superman can occasionally break things, such as when he learns that Lois is a mother in Superman Returns. This trope has been repeated in many more superhero films, and it’s a great way to introduce us to the tone of Jessica Jones; any superhero fan would agree that it’s good to pay homage to the classics.
