‘Jessica Jones’: Netflix’s Next Marvel Series.

Jessica Jones is just the second of four Netflix original series set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MC) after Daredevil and will be followed by series centered on Luke Cage and Iron Fist. Jessica Jones stars Krysten Ritter—best known as Jesse’s ill-fated girlfriend Jane on Breaking Bad—as a former superhero turned private eye… presumably turned superhero again.

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves because it’s the life of Jessica Jones that we’ll be next privy to on the small screen as the series follow the former superhero as she sets up her PI service called Alias Private Investigations. Netflix announced on Thursday that Marvel’s Jessica Jones, starring Krysten Ritter as the title character, will debut all 13 of its episodes on Nov. 20. Jones is only the second female-led Marvel series, after ABC’s Agent Carter, and also Netflix’s second Marvel show after Daredevil, which premiered back in April. The show also features David Tennant as villain Kilgrave, Mike Colter as Luke Cage, Rachael Taylor as Jessica’s best friend Trish Walker and Carrie-Anne Moss as a no-nonsense ally. “Jessica Jones” is executive produced by series showrunner Melissa Rosenberg and Liz Friedman, along with Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s head of television. David Tennant plays Kilgrave, a person from Jessica’s past, who the producer Joseph Loeb compares to Vincent D’Onofrio’s King Pin in Daredevil.

And the answer is no.” Ritter, David Tennant (Kilgrave), Mike Colter (Luke Cage), Rachael Taylor (Trish Walker), Carrie-Anne Moss, Eka Darville, Erin Moriarty, and Wil Traval, make up the Jessica Jones cast.
