Arrest Made in Lil Wayne Tour Bus Shooting.

ATLANTA An Atlanta man faces charges including aggravated assault and gang activity for shooting at Grammy-winning rap music star Lil Wayne’s tour buses, police said on Friday. According to a TMZ report, police in Atlanta have found a suspect in an incident last month that involved Lil Wayne‘s tour bus being shot at outside of Atlanta’s Compound Nightclub as Wayne and his team were making their exit.

Jimmy Carlton Winfrey was apprehended by Atlanta police and was charged with aggravated assault, terrorist threats, possession of a firearm by a felon, and criminal gang activity. Jimmy Carlton Winfrey, 25, fired at the two tour buses last month in order to gain street credibility, according to local media reports, which identified Winfrey as a member of the Bloods gang. TMZ said Winfrey has been Young Thug’s road manager — which is incredibly relevant since Thug’s been in a very public beef with Wayne for months.

Thug released a mixtape called “Tha Carter 6″ — mocking Wayne’s long delayed album — but changed it to “Barter 6″ when he was threatened with a lawsuit. There’s no surefire way to determine when this photo was taken, but up until 7 months ago, Thug’s hair was only partially blonde, meaning this would have to have been taken between late November and now. Thug exacerbated the toxic rivalry when he released a mocking mixtape album called Tha Carter 6, which was to make fun of Wayn’s long-delayed album. The Atlanta Police Department stated that they believed the shooting to be “an effort to gain status as a Blood by ‘committing a high profile shooting of a rival rap artist.’” Despite his connection with the Bloods, Winfrey’s connection with Young Thug has many asking if the shooting had anything to do Young Thug’s longtime feud with Wayne.

Earlier this week, Young Thug was interviewed by No Days Off Radio and revealed that he wanted to name his next mixtape Tha Carter V, if Wayne’s album of the same name wasn’t released. Hopefully the police got the right guy but we’re still thanking the stars that Lil Wayne and the rest of his crew aboard the bus that day are safe and sound.
