Katie Holmes to give first interview about Scientology as Leah Remini reveals she was ‘written up’ by church officials for telling the actress and ex-husband Tom Cruise to ‘get a room’ once.

Three years after quitting Scientology and breaking up with Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes is set to speak about her time in the mysterious church for the first time.In a new clip from Leah Remini’s upcoming interview with ABC News, the former Scientologist recounts a time when high-ranking Scientology officers allegedly wrote her up for telling Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes to “get a freaking room” after seeing Cruise “forcibly kissing Katie.” “Church members regularly write what are called knowledge reports on one another for breaking rules,” said Remini, who’s promoting a memoir titled Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology. “You can assume that if you say something critical to the church, you will be written up.

In a bombshell interview airing with Dan Harris on ABC News’ “20/20” the “King of Queens” actress says that, “being critical of Tom Cruise is being critical of Scientology itself. It’s what the group does to regulate itself.” Watch the full clip below, and see the interview — which will include Holmes responding to Remini’s comments — when it airs Friday at 10 p.m.

In a preview of her interview, set to air Friday night, she revealed that she was once reprimanded by church officials for joking with Cruise and Holmes. You are evil.” “At first it’s very effusive,” she explained. “ It’s very loving and you get the laser in on you and you’re the most important thing. Remini says the incident happened when she was invited over to Cruise’s home to teach him and Holmes how to salsa dance, along with two other high-ranking church officials.

She claimed that two high-ranking Scientology officials were present in the home to monitor the lesson, along with Cruise’s then girlfriend, Katie Holmes. The former King of Queens actress is one of the most famous celebrities to leave the church, but unlike a lot of Hollywood Scientologists, Remini didn’t join the church as adult.

Instead, Remini was brought into the church at just nine years old by her mother, school teacher Vicki Marshall, and she therefore has a unique view on what it’s like to be a child in the church. Great!’ Remini recounts that one evening she and husband Angelo Pagan received a call from Scientology officials that they were to go to Tom Cruise’s home to give salsa lessons. I didn’t think that would be healthy for her.’ The church also demands a minimum of three and a half hours commitment every day, seven days a week, she says. It was a difficult decision to make after 30 years as a devout Scientologist, but she says she was willing to face the church blacklisting her in order to escape it – thanks to the help of her close friend, Jennifer Lopez. ‘When you leave, you can leave quietly,’ Leah said. ‘But If you make a stink in the public world, they call you a Suppressive Person, which means the church has put a stamp on you that says you are bad. ‘No one is going to tell me how I need to think, no one is going to tell me who I can, and cannot talk to’, Remini told People magazine in 2013 when she left the church. ‘We didn’t have a choice and there are pretty hard repercussions to leave it’, Remini stated in a video clip from her own TLC reality series, Leah Remini: It’s All Relative.

Remini labels herself a ‘troublemaker’ in this hotly anticipated take down of the church and its hierarchy, in what is also an expose of its most famous members that include Tom Cruise, John Travolta and Kirstie Alley. Actress Kirstie, a Scientologist since 1979, bizarrely called Remini ‘repulsive’ and ‘a bigot’, going after her in an interview on Howard Stern’s Sirius XM radio show. In an early response to Remini’s book, the Church of Scientology writes her off as being ‘obsessed with shamelessly exploiting her former religion in a pathetic attempt to get publicity’.
