Kit Harington drops major ‘Game of Thrones’ hint about Jon Snow

‘Game of Thrones’ Kit Harington may have just spoiled what’s up with Jon Snow.

Despite multiple — and we mean multiple — reports from the actors, the showrunners, from President Obama himself, fans are still not quite sure that our favorite sullen-faced Northern bastard has snuffed it for good. The same can’t be said for its large cast of characters which tends to come down with a serious case of deaditis around the second to last episode of every blood-filled season. After months of speculation, rumours and sightings in Belguim where the sixth season of Game of Thrones is being filmed, Kit Harington finally put everyone out of their misery. When asked how many more seasons he will be on the show, Kit laughed and then revealed that the show will still be a huge part of his life for a while, and that he will probably be in his mid-thirties when it’s all over.

In an interview, reportedly given to Dutch-language Belgian magazine Humo, the 28-year-old actor has been reported as saying he is attached to the HBO show for another few years. So the show is like a double-edged sword to me: I owe a lot to it, but at the same time it has almost completely drained me,” Harington, 28, said, translated by a Redditor. “Oh well, I try not to think about it too much. One thing’s for sure: the day I’m no longer on Thrones is the day I’ll bury myself in movie projects.” He told Entertainment Weekly: “I’ve been told I’m dead. The worldwide Jon Snow truther movement—which maintains that the former Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch might transform into a White Walker, warg his way into his direwolf’s body, or be revived via Melisandre’s holy connection to the Lord of Light—has kept obsessive tabs on Harington’s every globetrotting move, social interaction, and hair trim since the finale aired.

By now, with production on Season 6 in full swing, Harington knows full well whether or not Snow lives, dies, zombifies or simply makes a cameo appearance as a corpse on a funeral pyre or in a vision or a flashback. Harington opened up about the brutal scene during an interview with Entertainment Weekly after the dramatic episode aired in June. “I kind of knew it was coming,” he revealed. “I didn’t read [George R.R.

That might not necessarily mean a lot, most of the main cast signed to 7 season deals back in the day and that includes several folks who have long since gone the way of the Red Wedding. The important thing is that I now know exactly how long I am still under contract, and in the meantime—” And in the meantime, he said, leisurely steamrolling through HBO’s already threadbare veil of secrecy. So I had an inkling it should be this season,” he said at the time. “I didn’t realize it would be the final shot of the season and that made it extra special. The most boring possibility here is that he’ll show up in some kind of flashback but we’re much more for the idea of some icy zombie action – now that we’re finally getting a taste of what those White Walkers are capable of. It’s always kind of nice really when you’re the last thing that happens in that episode.” Nevertheless, there were signs that Jon Snow may still be alive.

I’m not coming back next season,” an HBO-sanctioned PR line that Watchers on the Wall, a fan site with more intel-feeding little birds across the world than Lord Varys, claims to have already debunked. Last week, the site reported a “massive” battle being filmed in Northern Ireland involving northern armies “including the Umbers, the Boltons, wildlings” and everyone’s favorite sadsack bastard, who was also seen on set.

By then, Harington had already been spotted in and around Belfast—where many of the show’s Winterfell and Castle Black-set scenes are filmed—a number of times: once disembarking the same plane Iwan Rheon a.k.a. Ramsay Bolton was on, once chatting happily with Rheon and some friends on a street corner at night, and once, according to a hawk-eyed Twitter fan, “at the fruit shop. But like an aging C-3PO actor rolling his eyes at studios’ “ludicrous” obsession with secrecy (let Anthony Daniels speak, Disney!) Harington seems less than invested in maintaining the ruse anymore.
