Katy Perry tops Taylor Swift (by $55M) in female top-earners list.

Not that Swift, 25, ended up destitute, of course. According to Forbes, the 31-year-old earned $135 million in the past 12 months with her endorsements deals with beauty companies like Coty and CoverGirl and the worldwide ‘Prismatic tour,’ News.com.au reports.

Perry also earned money from contracts with Covergirl and Coty COTY -8.78% , and retail store Claire’s. “I am proud of my position as a boss, as a person that runs my own company,” Perry said in an interview with Forbes. “I’m an entrepreneur … I don’t want to shy away from it. Since its release in 2013, Perry’s latest album ‘Prism’ has sold some four million worldwide since its release and the ‘Dark Horse’ singer has been touring for most of the year.

But Perry, 31, took in $135 million, thanks to a world tour, a slew of hits and lucrative deals with major companies happy to hand over millions for Perry’s endorsements of their products, the magazine says. Her tour around best-selling album 1989 is grossing so much (about $4 million per city), that Forbes predicts she’s “got the early edge for the No. 1 spot on our list next year.” A 1980s-era stalwart, Fleetwood Mac’s two female members, Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie, are prominent in its success. The band’s current tour “included 86 concerts during our scoring period; it also boasted a staggering secondary ticket price of over $300,” Forbes said.

And Beyoncé’s earnings followed a similar pattern: Her tour last year with husband Jay Z grossed over $100 million, plus she had deals with Pepsi and L’Oréal, and her own Heat fragrance helped fill her coffers. Forbes’ male top-earners in music, due in December, will likely top the women earners, but Forbes says at least some of the women are “competitive” with their male counterparts.
