Katie Holmes to Respond to Leah Remini’s Scientology Claims in 20/20 Special.

Since her 2012 divorce from Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes has stayed relatively mum about her marriage to the movie star and her experience with Scientology. In a new clip from Leah Remini’s upcoming interview with ABC News, the former Scientologist recounts a time when high-ranking Scientology officers allegedly wrote her up for telling Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes to “get a freaking room” after seeing Cruise “forcibly kissing Katie.” “Church members regularly write what are called knowledge reports on one another for breaking rules,” said Remini, who’s promoting a memoir titled Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology. “You can assume that if you say something critical to the church, you will be written up.

In a bombshell interview airing with Dan Harris on ABC News’ “20/20” the “King of Queens” actress says that, “being critical of Tom Cruise is being critical of Scientology itself. But in a news segment on Leah Remini’s defection from the controversial organization that airs Friday, Holmes will address Remini’s recent derogatory claims about Scientology, which include recollections about her interactions with Holmes and Cruise. It’s what the group does to regulate itself.” Watch the full clip below, and see the interview — which will include Holmes responding to Remini’s comments — when it airs Friday at 10 p.m.

On Friday morning, ABC News’ Dan Harris, who interviewed Remini for the 20/20 segment, appeared on Good Morning America to tease Holmes’s participation in the special. Remini says the incident happened when she was invited over to Cruise’s home to teach him and Holmes how to salsa dance, along with two other high-ranking church officials. You are evil.” “At first it’s very effusive,” she explained. “ It’s very loving and you get the laser in on you and you’re the most important thing.

These so-called ‘knowledge reports’ are common in the church and when a member receives one, they are required to speak about the issue during an auditing session – a pseudo-psychotherapy that Scientologists regularly participate in. The former King of Queens actress is one of the most famous celebrities to leave the church, but unlike a lot of Hollywood Scientologists, Remini didn’t join the church as adult. She claimed that two high-ranking Scientology officials were present in the home to monitor the lesson, along with Cruise’s then girlfriend, Katie Holmes.

According to Tony Ortega, who runs the reputed Scientology blog, the Underground Bunker, Remini has bad blood with both Cruise and Holmes after disrupting their 2006 wedding in Rome. Remini explained that being written up in what she called a “knowledge report” by a fellow Scientologist is a common practice – even among family members and married couples – that helps the church “regulate itself.” “It comes as no surprise that someone as self-absorbed as Leah Remini with an insatiable craving for attention would exploit her former faith as a publicity stunt by rewriting her history with it, including omitting that she was participating in a program to remain a Scientologist by her own choice, as she was on the verge of being expelled for her ethical lapses,” Pouw said. In a post based on Knowledge Reports he claims to have seen, Ortega wrote: After arriving in Rome they all attended a dinner in town, where Leah first noticed that Tom’s best man, Scientology leader David Miscavige, was there without his wife, Shelly. Great!’ Remini recounts that one evening she and husband Angelo Pagan received a call from Scientology officials that they were to go to Tom Cruise’s home to give salsa lessons.

Leah and Angelo ended up leaving their hotel late — waiting for J-Lo’s security detail to give them the green light — and arrived at the castle about an hour after the other guests. Leah asked about it, and was told by Tommy Davis, the son of actress Anne Archer and a Sea Org lackey to Tom Cruise, that Leah “didn’t have the fucking rank” to ask about Shelly’s whereabouts. (What Leah didn’t know at that time was that more than a year earlier Shelly had been banished to a super-secret Scientology compound in the mountains above Los Angeles, where she remains to this day.) Leah also caused a stir when she asked to have Jennifer Lopez moved because J-Lo wanted to sit with her.

I didn’t think that would be healthy for her.’ The church also demands a minimum of three and a half hours commitment every day, seven days a week, she says. In fact, Leah’s behavior caused such a stink, after the wedding the Scientologists in attendance did what Scientologists do, and they filed Knowledge Reports with the church in order to snitch on each other. I was an actor before, an actor during and an actor now.” In a taped deposition from 2013 for his $50 million lawsuit against Life & Style and In Touch magazines, Cruise himself suggests that Holmes divorced him, in part, to protect their daughter Suri from Scientology. When Remini finally walked away, she was branded a ‘suppressive person’ in church terminology and willingly faced Scientology’s attempt to destroy her life.

Actress Kirstie, a Scientologist since 1979, bizarrely called Remini ‘repulsive’ and ‘a bigot’, going after her in an interview on Howard Stern’s Sirius XM radio show. In the past years, Remini has been disturbed about the whereabouts of Shelly Miscavige, the wife of David Miscavige, the head of the Church of Scientology, who has been seen only once since 2006. Afterward, back in the States, Remini says she was was subjected to what is called ‘Security Checking’, months of interrogations and behavior modification at Scientology’s Flag Land Base in Clearwater, Florida.
