Diane Keaton Assumed Lena Dunham Was a Lesbian During Party at Jennifer Aniston’s House.

NEW YORK – Judd Apatow is not wavering on his criticism of comedian Bill Cosby, who’s been accused of sexual misconduct by more than two dozen women over four decades. While attending the world premiere of his latest film, “Trainwreck,” in New York on Tuesday night, the 47-year filmmaker explained why his crusade is so important to him. “I just thought that nobody was talking about it, and that was very sad that he hurt so many people,” Apatow said. “Look at all these women finding the courage to say ‘Something really terrible happened to me’ and most of it fell on deaf ears. As if it wasn’t wild enough to be invited to Jennifer Aniston’s house for her annual Christmas party, Girls star had a meeting with — and what transpired will go down in history as one of the most awkward celebrity chats ever. Recounting her friendship with Trainwreck’s Judd Apatow during a conversation with the director at New York City’s Lincoln Center on July 13, Dunham told the audience about that fated party when she and Apatow ran into Keaton for the first time.

As Dunham, 29, tells it, Keaton was rather forward when she was introduced to the actress through Apatow, 47. “Is this your wife?” Keaton, 69, asked Apatow, who has been married to actress Leslie Mann since 1997. I owe much of who I am to Bill Cosby, so the idea of love seems to fall short of exactly how I feel,” he writes in the essay’s introductory paragraph. Last week, a Pennsylvania judge unsealed a 2005 deposition by Cosby in which the 78-year-old said he obtained quaaludes with the intent of giving them to young women he wanted to have sex with. But it doesn’t take much time for Phillips to acknowledge the dozens of accusations that have been brought against Cosby, diving deeper into his perception of the actor and his time spent with him. “Bill sleeping around was a ‘fact’ that, like, the air, seemed to just be.

Are you interested in men?’ It was the best thing.” Added the starstruck Girls showrunner (via Vulture): “Diane Keaton straight-up was just like, Oh, there’s a lesbian, and I’m Diane Keaton, so I don’t even need to beat around the proverbial bush. I’ll just let her know.” Dunham, currently dating fun. guitarist Jack Antonoff, wasn’t fazed by the incident, but pal Apatow saw things a little differently. “That may be more about Diane Keaton’s judgment of me and my ability to bring a woman,” he told the crowd at the Film Society of Lincoln Center event. He hopes it will encourage people to listen to the accusers. “I’m glad that more information has come out and now people understand the terrible things he did and realize that we do need to stand up for women because if we don’t they won’t come forward,” he said.

He notes that even though he was “low man on the totem poll,” people still seemed extremely interested regarding his knowledge on the matter. “We spent the next two hours sitting on a bench talking. Goldberg has been one of Cosby’s most ardent supporters, and after the court documents were released last week, she said on ABC’s “The View” that she believed Cosby was innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Business advisers have reportedly told Cosby to sever ties with Hollywood friends and family and avoid any “comeback” attempts following sexual assault allegations from dozens of women over the last 50 years.
