Jon Snow lives! And this time, there’s a photo to prove his ‘Game of Thrones’ resurrection.

Jon Snow’s alive-or-dead status is so well-discussed at this point that it was even the fodder for a joke at the Emmys, but we may have found the best evidence yet that proves the true state of the Lord Commander. It all began with the final breath of Jon Snow, following a shocking scene in which he was betrayed by his Night’s Watch compatriots and more repeatedly, fatally wounded than Chef and Ricardo Monatlban combined.

The Daily Mail picked up some paparazzi photos from the Game of Thrones set in Belfast, where Kit Harington is not just hanging around, but actually in costume, complete with sword hanging by his side. HBO insisted he was; co-star Maisie Williams cast doubt on conspiracy theorists; petitions were circulated and the most insanely insignificant clues were analyzed. The Mail speculates that a woman under a nearby umbrella could be Carice van Houten as Melisandre—which suits the theory that Melisandre could be responsible for Jon Snow’s resurrection—but the photo is so grainy that it’s really impossible to tell.

What we can tell though: Jon is no longer wearing the black armor of the Night’s Watch, but Stark armor, suggesting that the former Bastard of Winterfell may be rallying the remaining Stark loyalists in a battle against the Boltons, who are currently ruling the roost in Jon’s old home. After all, other set spies have already reported seeing Harington engaged in battle, and not against the White Walkers you remember from “Hardhome.” And given that we know to expect a flashback to the Tower of Joy, which will tell us the real story behind Jon Snow’s parents, Jon Snow reclaiming his Stark heritage could be a fascinating—and moving—conclusion to that story.

Once you get past the question of whether he’ll come back — and make no mistake, this picture shows that “Thrones” intends to show us more Jon Snow — that’s when things get interesting. So, if he has come back from the dead, he seems to have changed his clothes to become a more in-touch-with-his-roots White Walker or whatever he is now. And if he was indeed resurrected as a zombie-like White Walker, wouldn’t Harington be … white all over? “Game of Thrones” will most likely return to HBO sometime in 2016, and at that time we can all finally get a real answer; until then, as Eddard Stark might say, let’s not lose our heads.

Here you can write a commentary on the recording "Jon Snow lives! And this time, there’s a photo to prove his ‘Game of Thrones …".
