Jennifer Lawrence: ‘I’m aging like a president’.

Jennifer Lawrence has maintained a busy schedule since The Hunger Games first premiered in 2012 and shot her to megastardom, but the actress says that pace is all part of her plan. “I try to keep working so people can see other characters and other things I can do instead of taking vacation time, and now I’m aging like a president,” Lawrence said at a press conference for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 on Saturday. “I hate waking up without a goal or going to sleep without achieving nothing.” Lawrence said on Saturday that she has prioritized taking diverse roles in the wake of The Hunger Games because starring as Katniss Everdeen has been such a career-defining part. “I remember there have been a few times where I would have loved time off,” she said. “But I was very aware of how overwhelming these movies and this character was, and that was a big fear of mine signing on to these movies.” The 25-year-old star is next set to star in Joy, her third collaboration with director David O. She plays a single mother and inventor in the film, and ages through 40 years old. “David gets visions,” she told the New York Times of the casting. “He’s in his own beautiful, amazing world.

It’s kind of an alienating feeling.” Jennifer admits it took some time to get used to people treating her differently when they meet her but she does her best to separate her celebrity self from her real life. “You don’t feel different but everyone reacts to you differently,” she continued. “It was a few years of getting used to it. That’s why I almost didn’t get it.” After Joy, Lawrence shows no signs of slowing down: She’ll star with Chris Pratt in the sci-fi film Passengers, has another X-Men movie out next summer (she plays Mystique in that franchise), and is attached to Darren Aronofsky’s next film.
