Another Bachelor break-up: Chris Soules and fiancee Whitney Bischoff split two months after final rose episode.

However, for those of the Bachelor Nation who watched Chris Soules fall in love with Whitney Bischoff, a fertility nurse from Chicago, the news of their split following a 6-month engagement was a genuine surprise.

Soules, also known as “Prince Farming,” and Bischoff “have mutually and amicably decided to end their engagement,” according to a joint statement released to People. “They part with nothing but respect and admiration for one another and will continue to be supportive friends. They wish to thank everyone who has supported them through this journey.’ The Bachelor creator Mike Fleiss was the first one to break the news, tweeting on Thursday morning: ‘Sad news to report: @souleschris and @whitbisch are no longer engaged…’ The Bachelor star also posted a photo with Whitney and his parents to Instagram that day, along with the words: ‘Post-show pic with the fam. Love you @whitb624.’ However rumours that trouble was brewing in paradise started swirling last month, when Whitney flew home to Chicago before Chris’s stint on Dancing With The Stars was up. However, Tilley found herself unable to commit to the L-word or to the promise that she’d move to Soules’ hometown of Arlington, Iowa, should he propose. The couple had revealed they would be temporarily living together in Los Angeles while the farmer, who ended up being eliminated in fifth place on May 5, competed on the show.

I think you have to use logic in any relationship and looking at Whitney’s situation and looking at her being in Chicago and being career-oriented and ready to settle down, those sorts of things are really attractive to me.” Naturally, a match made on The Bachelor is not one you want to rush – given the short timeframe these couples have to get to know each other, setting a wedding date is often not as high a priority as getting to know how your significant other takes their coffee. I’m not even existent to her, and she’s missing friends and home, so she’s going to take some time back there, and I’m sure she’ll be back in the next couple weeks hopefully if I’m still here.’ While she had hoped to move to Chris’s farm in Arlington, Iowa at some point, the fertility nurse had made it very clear that she wasn’t going to give up her career. ‘I have no plans to quit my job. When we feel it, it will happen.” Soules got into some hot water during his time on The Bachelorette when he told Andi Dorfman that there was an opportunity for her to become a “homemaker” in Arlington. Though Soules made it clear that he loved Bischoff’s “driven” nature, he did admit that, “to a certain extent,” he’d want a wife who had a career both at home and away. “Someone who has been there, done that and now wants to spend the next chapter as a mother.

Whether it’s a stay-at-home mother or not, It doesn’t have to be.” He also added that he’d want Bischoff to be “happy” no matter what; however, he also said that his three older sisters “have all been lucky enough to be stay-at-home mothers and that’s a great thing but not everybody can do that, financially, but I think it’s a blessing to be able to.
