‘Hello’! Jimmy Fallon and Lionel Richie Perform the Singer’s ’80s Classic with Hilarious Accuracy.

In yet another hilarious The Tonight Show sketch, Fallon teamed up with Lionel Richie to recreate the singer’s iconic 1983 music video for single “Hello,” on Friday night. The original clip for his 1984 hit is one of the most memorable of all time, featuring his image being moulded in clay by a blind girl who’d fallen in love with him.

Dressed in ’80s pastels and a ridiculous red wig, Fallon took the lead, singing Richie’s 1984 hit, “Hello” while Richie could barely make a straight face throughout. It seems Tonight Show host Jimmy remembers it very well, and he managed to get Lionel himself involved as they made a surreal but VERY funny new version. Except in this instance it featured Lionel sticking his head through a hole in the table and singing the song while Jimmy (sporting a very fine 80s perm) got on with the clay-moulding.

Jimmy’s been tapping in to his musical side a lot lately, having also joined Ariana Grande on a round of the Musical Impressions Generator earlier this week – as she delivered amazing impersonations of Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. The talk show host’s hilarious sketches have become a favourite for fans and celebrities, but he recently revealed one star decided against a skit at the last minute. He claimed Justin Bieber – who was coaxed into performing a tongue-in-cheek version of his hit Where are U now – was originally meant to do more, but opted out on the day of his appearance.
