Fitness Model From Md. Dies After Being Struck By Train.

FITNESS instructor and reality TV star Greg Plitt was reportedly attempting to outrun an oncoming train while filming a commerical for sports drinks when he was struck and killed. Two men were filming Greg on a railway track north of Burbank station on Saturday afternoon when the 37-year-old was hit by a southbound Metrolink train. TMZ is reporting that fitness legend Plitt — who starred in the Bravo TV series Work Out — was shooting an ad for a new sports drink near the Burbank Metrolink station in Los Angeles when he attempted the dangerous stunt. Plitt — a Crossfit enthusiast who frequently worked out near the railway lines — tripped and fell while running along the tracks and was unable to recover in time to get out of the way of an oncoming commuter train, TMZ says.

He had a camcorder in his hand,” said witness Victor Crowell. “Then that was it, the train stopped.” “The train speed was not terribly high ’cause it was approaching a station where they had to slow down,” said Burbank Police Sergeant Scott Meadows. “Based on the horn and the distance, it sounds like he had some warning and there would’ve been opportunity to move.” “Just shock. The muscular actor and West Point graduate has appeared on more than 200 magazine covers, Bravo’s reality television show Work Out and NBC’s daytime soap opera Days Of Our Lives, according to a website in Greg’s name.

In his final year of service, he was discovered as a potential model. “He believed that everyone can be their greatest self, everyone can achieve their fullest potential and that there are no excuses,” said fan Carlton Totten.
