Gisele Bundchen world’s highest paid supermodel, even after retirement.

The 35-year-old Brazilian earned a cool $60 million in the past year, a massive $48 million more than the second runners up, Cara Delevingne and fellow Brazilian, Adriana Lima (who both earned $12 million). “I don’t see how to continue (modelling on the catwalk),” she told Folha de Sao Paulo newspaper at the time, “and stopping will leave room for other projects I have for myself.

Forbes’ published its annual list of the top earning supers across the globe today – and Brazilian bombshell Gisele has landed the top spot for the ninth year in a row. The Forbes’ list was based on each model’s earnings from June 2014 to June 2015 and included income from cosmetics, endorsements, advertising and fragrance deals. At just 19, she is the youngest member of the bunch and beat out well-known beauties including Kate Upton and Jourdan Dunn with an annual salary of $4 million. The 35-year-old retired from the catwalk earlier this year but continues to star in campaigns for the likes of Stuart Weitzman and Chanel and receives a sizeable chunk from her line of sandals, Grendene, and lingerie, Gisele Bundchen Intimates. The 35-year-old mother of two raked in an eye-watering $44 million (€38m) in the last year, thanks to lucrative deals with Chanel, Under Armour and Stuart Weiztman.

Behind Bundchen, 23-year-old model-turned-actress Delevingne and 34-year-old Victoria’s Secret stalwart, Lima, was Dutch model Doutzen Kroes and Russian model, Natalia Vodianova. The exclusive list, topped by lingerie mogul Gisele Bundchen (yet again) at $44 million, includes huge household names like Cara Delevingne (whose $9 million salary ties with Adriana Lima’s), Doutzen Kroes ($7.5 million), Miranda Kerr ($5.5 million), Karlie Kloss (who tied at $5 million with Alessandra Ambrosio and Candice Swanepoel), and Kate Moss (who’s raking in $4.5 million).

Impressive as her pay-packet may seem, she has actually taken a six per cent drop in earnings since last year’s list, though we doubt she’ll be feeling the pinch. The wife of football star Tom Brady, Forbes’ calculated her earnings as $120K a day – putting Linda Evangelista’s infamous “I won’t get out of bed for less than $10,000 a day” statement to shame.

Jenner’s landmark year comes after booking high-profile campaigns with Fendi, Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs, Givenchy, and Kardashian family favorite, Balmain. Kendall Jenner was one of two newcomers to the list, joining the ranks at number 16 with an estimated $5.5 million in earnings and 36.4 million Instagram followers. “Bundchen alone has earned $430 million [A$598 million] from modeling since 2001,” Forbes’ says. “Still, her highly paid cohort are very much the minority elite–models are rarely paid for editorial shoots or catwalk appearances, while gigs with prestigious design houses don’t pay much but give models exposure they can leverage.” Australian model Jesinta Campbell has shut down rumours surrounding her fiance Lance “Buddy” Franklin, telling reporters they should cover “things that actually have weight to them”. Speaking publicly for the first time about Franklin’s withdrawal from the rest of the AFL season due to mental health issues, Campbell said she was angered by gossip that there was more to his absence. After walking in coveted shows for Diane von Furstenberg, Michael Kors, and Givenchy during New York Fashion Week this September, she’ll fly to London, Paris, and Milan for even more catwalk action throughout September and October. Rumours have circulated since Franklin revealed he would not play again, including unproven claims of drug and alcohol abuse and that he was caught having an affair with a teammate’s partner.

Campbell, who was at the launch of the Blackmores Sydney Running Festival for which she is an ambassador, said on Thursday that she and Franklin were doing “great”. “He’s got the best support around him and we’re so grateful to everyone that has reached out to us and he’s getting the best help possible and he’ll be back before we know it,” Campbell said. “Rumours are rumours for a reason and you’re all reporters so if you actually want to report on anything of substance and I’m sure you’ll actually be interested to know that two in three adults in Australia and one in four children in Australia suffer with obesity and overweight issues so it’s great that I can actually be here promoting something that is so positive in the community and promoting a great, healthy active lifestyle,” Campbell said. She credits her career with raising her self-esteem, too. “When I started getting in front of the camera a lot, I think my confidence started to come out,” the star told Allure in March. “It took a minute, because I had to believe in myself.” Though Jenner’s confidence will certainly rise again after seeing her name on the list, it seems like no one can dethrone the reigning queen, Bundchen. Fifth place is jointly held by Miranda Kerr, who owes her fortune to a lucrative deal with Swarovski as well as her own skincare range, Kora Organics, and Puerto Rican Joan Smalls, Estee Lauder’s first Latino spokesmodel. When asked how angry it made her to hear the claims, she started to respond with “yeah” before she was cut off by a minder insisting that reporters must “skew” questions towards the running event. The lingerie mogul has topped the chart since 2002, and out-earned her husband, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, by nearly five times, according to Forbes.

He said some of the rumours were so far-fetched it was impossible for them to be true. “I feel I have enough information – you don’t know everything and I’m not trying to sound outraged – [but] I feel confident enough that this issue is as described, and please give him the space he needs to deal with it because it’s unbelievably tough,” he said on Fox Footy’s AFL 360 program on Wednesday night. This is an extremely challenging time for us and has been for some time now, however it has been made easier by the love, understanding and support we have been given.
