Fitness expert, reality TV star Greg Plitt killed by train in California.

BURBANK, Calif. (AP) — A fitness model and actor who previously shot workout videos on railroad tracks was struck and killed by a train during filming in Southern California. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Transit Services Bureau said that he was struck by a Metrolink train at 4.10pm on Front Street, north of the Metrolink station. Plitt starred on Bravo’s ‘Work Out’ between 2006 and 2008, and was in another just-premiered reality show for the network, ‘Friends to Lovers,’ with his long-time friend, the fitness star Melanie Marden. Investigators, who interviewed witnesses who saw Plitt standing on the track even as the train’s horn was blaring, have ruled out a suicide, he said. “It’s like a blind turn,” he said. “When the train came, you might not be able to tell which set the train is on.” It was not immediately clear what the men were filming. The actor and West Point graduate has appeared on more than 200 magazine covers, Bravo’s reality television show “Work Out” and “Friends to Lovers” and NBC’s daytime soap opera “Days of Our Lives,” according to a website in Plitt’s name.

He recorded commercials for MTV, Under Armour and Gold’s Gym, and worked as a model for Calvin Klein, Thierry Mugler and Under Armour among other brands and media outlets.
